HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 12.21.1922 Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, November 21, 19220 The City Council of the City of laurel met in regular .session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall. and was called' to order by Mayor. Frank Wright at 8:00 F. M. November 21, 19220 Upon troll call, the following Aldermen answered present; Vordahl Clark Hageman Kenyon Price Richardson. Wo.ld The minutes of November-7th, 9th and 16th were reed and approved. Estimate No. 3 for Special Improvement District No, 53 from the State Highway Commission was read and after a lengthy discussion in regard to the funds received from the Bureau of Public Roads, it seemed that no satisfactory arrangement of pay- ment could be.made until a telegram was received from the State Highway Commission in which they agreed to pay all Federal Aid Funds direct to the City to be repaid to the contractor, Pro- viding, the contractor agreed to this arrangement. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Kenyon.that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to issue additional bonds to Wickham Bros, Schwi.eger in the amount of $18,8000009 making a total of $29,000.00, upon the execution of an agreement to have all funds from Federal Aid paid direct to the City. The notion carried, :Estimate No. 1. on Special Improvement District No 55, sewer, for F, E, Evans Contracting Company, was presented and read. The total amount of the estimate being $1320.25. It was moved by 'old and seconded by Hageman that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute and deliver bonds to said eon.- tractor in the amount of $1300.00. The motion carried, Estimate No, 2, Special Improvement District No. 56, water, for F. E. Evans Contracting Comp&n ,was presented and read. The amount of this estimate being 1230.61 less the amount of estimate No, 1 of October 24, 19229 of 700.00, leaving a balance of $530.61. It was moved by 'rice and second- ed by Clark that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to exe- cute and deliver bonds to said contractor in the amount of $500.00. The motion carried. Estimate No. 3, Special Improvement District No, 54, drain sewer, for F. E. Evans Contracting Company, was presented and read. The total 'amount of this estimate being $14,208,80, less amount of estimates Nosy. 1 and 2 for $12,000.00, . leaving a.balance of $2gZ08,80. It was moved by Kenyon and seconded by Richardson that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to exe- cute and deliver bonds to said contractor in the amount of $1000.00. The motion carried.
