Oct. 3, 1922,
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor Prank Wright ;t 8:00 P. M. October 3, 1922.
Upon roll call, the following aldermen answered present:
Vordahl
Ha geman
Knudsen
Richardson
wold
The minutes of the special meetin+f September 16th,
the regular meeting of September 19th and the adjourned regular
session of September 26th were read-and approved.
The reports of the City `treasurer and Police judge
were read and approved.
The bills for the month of September were re ferred to
the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the Committee.
reported back recommending the payment_of the followin g bills:

A bill for the repair of the rood' and ceiling for

seconded by Vordahl that a-committee be appointed to settle the
bill with Dr. McCauley along with a City bill for sewer tapping
privilege on this building. The motion carried. Thereupon, the
hTayor appointed Hageman and Wold.
This being the time set for receiving bids for a new
pump and base for connection to the 100 H. P., G. E. electric
motor, the Mayor instructed the Clerk to open and :read all bidsf
which were as follows;

It was moved and seconded that a Committee be appointed to pass
on the bids submitted at a later meeting. The motion carried.
Thereupon, the Mayor named the Light and .'dater Cornznittee con-
sisting of Vordahl, Zenyon and 4°tloId.
The City Treasurer appeared before the Council and
reported that he was having some trouble in collecting licenses
and he thought some adjustment should be made. It was moved by
Hageman and seconded by Wold that a committee be appointed to
make recommendation to revise license ordinances. The motion
carried. Thereupon, the Mayor appointed Knudsen, Hageman and
WoId.
The committee appointed at a previous meeting to de-
cide upon moving the transformer to the City pail reported that
they decided to leave the transformer where it is now located.
This being the date fixed for the hearing and passing
upon protests against the creation of Special Improvement Dis-
trict No. 60, the Mayor called for the protests on file. The
Clerk reported that no such protests had been received and pro-
duced -oroof of -n-ablication and mailing of notices as--required
by the Resolution of Intention, whereupon, it was moved and
seconded that there being no rrotests filed that the Council
proceed to the creation of said District. The motion: carried.
RESOLUHON NO. 279
Being a resolution creating Special Improvement District No. 60
of the City of Laurel, designating the boundaries thereof as de-
fined by Resolution No, 272 and referring to said Resolution,
same being the Resolution of Intention'to create said District,
was presented and read. After some discussion, it was referred
to a Committee consisting of Told, Richardson and Hageman who
reported back recommending the passage of said Resolution. It
was moved and seconded that the report of the Co irnittee be a-
dopted and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council
be had to place Resolution No, 279 upon its immediate passage.
Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. It was then
moved and seconded that Resolution Eo. 279 be -gassed and adopt-
ed. U-oon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and the
said Resolution was declared passed and adopted.
ORDI NBT'ACE NO. 254
..?_ *Being an Ordinance providing for the receiving of bids and the
letting of a contract for the construction of improvements in
Special Improvement District No. 60 was presented and read.

After dome discussion, it was referred to a Committee consisting
.r of Vordahl, gageman and Knudsen. Auer due deliberation the
`°- Committee reported back recornending its immediate passage. It
was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted
and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to
place Ordinance No. 254 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call,
all Aldermen present voted aye. It was moved and. seconded that
Ordinance No. 254 be passed and ado=pted. Upon roll call, all Al-
dermen rresent voted aye and the said Ordinance -viias declared
passed and adopted.
This being the date fixed for the hearing and passing
upon protests against the creation of S-pecial im')rovernent District
No. 61, the Mayor called for the protests on file! The Clerk re
-ported that no such protests had been received and ?produced -oroof
of publication and mailing of notices as ree_uired by the Resolu-
tion of Intention, whereupon, it was moved and seconded that there
being no -protests filed that the Council -oroceed" to the creation
of said 1)istriet. The motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 28Z
:Being a Resolution creating Special Improvement District No. 61 of
the City of Laurel, designating the boundaries thereof as defined
by Resolution No. 273 and referring to said Resolution, same being
the Resolution of Intention to create said District, was presented
and read. After some discussion, it was referred to a Committee
consisting of Knudsen, V7old and Vordahl who reported back recom-
mending the passage of said :Resolution. It was moved and seconded
that the re-aort of the Committee be adopted and that the, unanimous
consent and vote of the Council be had to ;glace Resolution No. 282
upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present
voted aye. It was then moved and seconded that Resolution No. 282
be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted
aye and the said Resolution was declared passed and adopted.
ORDINANCE NO. 255
Ordinance No. 255, being an ordinance providing the man-
ner of levying the assessment in Special Improvement District No.
50 and the iiann.er in which assessments shall be -paid, was present-
ed and read. After some discussion, it, was referred to a Committee
consisting of Vordahl, 4"fold and Richard-son. After due deliberation,
the Committee reported back recommending its immediate passage. It
was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted
and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to
place Ordinance No . 255 upon its immediate passage. Upon . roll
call, all Aldermen present voted aje. It was moved and seconded
that Ordinance No. 255 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted aye and the said Ordinance was declared
-passed and adopted.
ORDINANCE NO. 256
Ordinance No. 256, being an ordinance -providing the
rlanner of levying the assessment in Special Irn-prove.ment District
No. 51 and the manner in which assessments. shall be paid,.was pre-
sented and read. Auer some discussion, it was referred to a Com-
mittee consisting of Vold, Richardson and Knudsen. After due de-
liberation, the Committee reported back recommending its immedi-
ate passage. It was moved and seconded that the report of the
Committee be adopted and that the unanimous consent and vote of
the -Cotiuzcil be had to -glace Ordinance No. 256 upon its immediate
passage, Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. It was
moved and seconded that Ordinance No. 256 be passed end adopted.
Upon roll call, all Al"de (T en present voted aye and the said Ordi-
nance was declared passed and adopted.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn.
