September 26, 1922.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in an ad-
journed regular session in the Council Chamber in the City lull
and was called to order by Mayor Frank V1right at 8:00 P. 1l. Sett-
ember 261 1922.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Vordahl
Clark
Hageman
Pri ce
Richardson
Quo1d
The minutes of September 4th were read and approved.
The contract and bond of F, E. Evans Contracting Corn-
-zany for the construction of imprrovements in Special Improvement
District No. 55 were reed. It was moved by Alderman Price and
seconded by Alderman Vordahl that same be approved. The motion
carried.
The contract and bond of F. :]vans Contracting Com-
pany for the construction of improvements in Special Improvement
District No. 56 were read. It was moved by Alderman Wold and
seconded by Alderman Price that same be approved. The motion
carried.
The contract between 10anrice F. Kiley, contractor in
Special Improvement District No. 52 and the City of Laurel, to-
gether with a surety company bond executed by the Royal Indemnity
Company in the sum of $400.00 conditioned for the fiathful per-
formance of such contract, was read. It was moved by Vordahl
and seconded by Hageman that the said contract and bond be adopted
and ao-oroved. The motion carried.
The contract for the work in Special Improvement District
No. 58 between J. J. Burley, the contractor, and the City of Laurel
was read, together with a surety bond, executed by J. J.-Burley as
principal and 1galter Libecap and Phillip 1dichael as sureties in
the sum of ;400.00, conditioned for the faithful performance of
the work in said District. It was moved by Price and seconded by
Clark that the contract and bond be approved and adopted. The
motion carried.
A. committee of the Railway Shop Craft appeared to ex
,lain the union= s attitude in regard to the strike situation.
Mr. Syrr ponds spoke for a few minutes on the subject.

Resolution No. 2751 being a resolution prescribing the
form, denomination and rate of interest of bonds in Special Im-
provement District No. 52 and providing for the time of payment
and redemption of said bonds, was presented and read. It was
moved by Alderman Clark and seconded by Alderman Hageman that
said Resolution be gassed and adoloted as -read. All Aldermen-
-present voted aye and said Resolution was declared massed and
2 dor)ted.
ORDITT `2TCB NO. 250.
Ordinance Tao, 250, being an ordinance creating fund to
be known as "end of Special Improvement District No. 52 of the
City of Laurel", was presented and read. After some discussion,
it was referred to a committee consisting; of Price, Richardson
and Wold. After due deliberation, the committee reported back
recommending its immediate passage. It was moved and seconded
that the report of the Committee be adopted and that the unen.i-
m1ous consent and vote of the CoUal?cil be had to Mace Ordinance
No. 250 on its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Ald-ermen
present voted ape. It was moved and seconded that said Ordinance
No. 250 be now passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all aldermen
present voted aye and the said Ordinance was declared passed and
ado oted.

RESOLUTION h0. 276.
Resolution ?'-?o. 2'76, being a resolution prescribing the
form, denomination and rate of interest of bonds in Special Im-
provement District No. 53 and providing jor the time of payment
and redemption of said bonds, was presented and read. It was
moved by Alderman Vordahl and seconded by Alderman Price that
said Resolution be passed and adopted. as read. All Aldermen
?present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed and
adopted.

Ordinance No. 251, being an ordinance creating fund to
be . 0VIM as "Fund of Special improvement District No. 53 of the
City of L-anrelr', was presented and read. After some discussion,
it was referred to a committee consisting of Price, Richardson
and ?Told. After due deliberation, the committee reported back
recomiending its immediate passage. It was moved and seconded.
that the report of the Cornrittee be adopted and that the unani-
r,ious consent and vote of the Council be had to place Ordinance
No. 251 on its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen
?resent voted aye. It was moves, and seconded that said Ordinance

present voted aye and the said Ordinance was declared passed and

Resolution No. 277, being a resolution prescribing the
form, denomination and rate of interest of bonds in Special Im-
plo vement District No, 54 and -providing for the time of payment
and redemption of said bonds, was presented and read. It was
moved by Alderman Richardson and seconded by Alderman VTold that
said Resolution be gassed and adopted as read. All aldermen
present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed and
ado-oted.

Ord-finance No. 252, being an ordinance creating fund to
be known as "Fund of S-oecial Improvement District No. 54 of the
City of Laurel", was presented and read. After some discussion,
it was referred to a committee consisting of Ha -?,rexna.n, Clark and
Vordahl. After due deliberation, the committee reported back
recommending its immediate passage. it was moved and seconded
that the report of the Committee be adopted and that the unani-
mous consent and vote of the Council be had to place Ordinance

present voted aye. it was moved and seconded that said Ordinance
No. 252 be now passed and aao-pied. Upon roll call, all aldermen
present voted aye and the said Ordinance was declared -messed and

Resolution No. 278, being a resolution prescribing the
form, denomination and rate of interest of bonds in Special im-
provement District No. 58 and -providing for the time of payment
and red3ampti on of said bonds, was presented and read. It was
moved by alderman Clark and seconded by Alderman Lagema,n that
said Resolution be massed and ado-oted as read. All Aldermen
present voted aye and said Resolution was declared passed and
adopted.

Ordinance No. 253, being an ordinance creating fund to
be known as "Fund of Special Imor ovement District No. 58 of the
City of Laurel". was presented and read. After some discussion,
it .was referred t-a. a committee consisting of Price, Richardson
and 'Vold. After dire deliberation, the committee reported back
recommending its immediate -cassage. It was moved and seconded
that the report of the Coi_Lm ttee be adopted and that the unan.i-
rnous consent and vote of the Council be had to .place Ordinance
No. 253 on its immediate passage. ,,);r- roll call, all aldermen
present voted aye. It was moved and seconded that said Ordinance
No. 253 be now passed and ado-oted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen
present voted aye and the said Ordinance was declared passed and
adopted.

Estimate No. 1 and final for Special improvement Dis-
trict No. 52, prepared by T. A. Rigaey, City Engineer, was sub-

mitted and read. The total amount being $1680.00, including
$141.50 for engineering and incidentals. It was moved by alder- - ,
.man Vordahl and seconded by Alderman Richardson that the Mayor
and Clerk,be authorized to issue and deliver bonds to the amount
of $1580.00 rpon receipt of $141.50 from the contractor Maurice
F.'Kiley. The motion carried.
Estimate No. l in Special Improvement District No. 54
was submitted by T. A. Rigc.ey, City Engineer. The ,said estimate
showed work completed in accordance with specifications in the -
sum of $5674.20. It was moved by Price and seconded by Vordahl
that the estimate be allowed and that the Mayor and Clerk be
authorized to execute bonds against the said District in the sure
of x5600,00 and deliver same to the contractor. The motion
carried.
Estimate, No. l and final for Special Improvement Dis-
trict No. 58, prepared by T. A. Kigney, City Engineer, was sub-
mitted and read. The total amount being $1480.00, including
$134.63 for engineering and incidentals. It was moved by .Alder -
man. Hageman and seconded by Alderman Price that the Mayor and
Clerk be authorized to issue and deliver bonds to -the amount of
$1480,00 to J. J. Burley the contractor upon receipt of 1134.65. The motion carried, •
A petition for a cro swalk on First Avenue west of
the Masonic Temple was read, it was moved and seconded that the
City Engineer have crosswalk constructed. The motion carried,
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The
