Pursuant to adjournment of June 20, 1922, the City Council of the City of Laurel met in a regular adjourned session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8:00 P. M., June'28, 1922 and was called to order by Mayor Frank Wright. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present: Clark Hageman Kenyon Knudsen Price Richardson Vordahl This being the time set for receiving bids for con- struction of improvements in Special Improvement District No 53, Federal Aid Project No. 57, the Clerk was instructed to open and read all bids submitted. The bids were as follows: McElroy and Clark, on concrete paving $47,433,68 The bid was accompanied by a Bidders7BRond instead of a certified check. Mc4uire and Blakeslee, on concrete paving 512764.75 Warren Construction Co., Mod, Topeka Type on concrete base 691788,24 It was moved and seconded that the Mayor appoint a committee to review the bids submitted. The motion carried. Thereupon, the Mayor appointed Kenyon, Knudsen and Hageman, After due deliber- ation., they reported back recommending that the Council defer action upon the bids submitted until Friday, June 30th, at 8:00 P. M. It was moved and seconded that the report of the ommit- tee be adopted, The motion carried. e This being the time set for receiving bids for the construction of improvements in Special Improvement District No. 549 the Clerk was instructed to open and read.all.bids submitted. The bids were as follows F. E. Evans Construction Co. I $14, 09'7.50 John Gibson 15,642,82. Nordquist & Falters 23,986.00 Maurice F. Kiley 16,020,00 Security Bridge Co. 192707.50 E. Lindstrom 1x7, 559,x70 McLaughlin & O; Neal _ 191713.42 The bid of F. E. Evans Construction Company was accompanied with a bidders bond instead of a certified check. It was moved and seconded that the Mayor appoint a committee to review the bids submitted. The motion carried. Thereupon, the Mayor ap- pointed Price, Hageman and Kenyon to report upon the bids sub- mitted. After due deliberation, the Committee reported back recommending that the consideration of the bids submitted by deferred until Friday night at the same time the paving bids would be considered. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted. The motion carried. This being the time set for receiving of bids for the construction of cross walks for the season of 1922, the Clerk was instructed to open and read all bids submitted. The bid of J, J. Burley was the only bid submitted, the bid being twenty-six (26) cents for natural sand and gravel, It was moved and seconded that' the bid be accepted and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized i Minutes of the City Council of Laurel to eater into a contract for the construction of the cross walks as they are ordered in, The motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 256 Being a Resolution of Intention to create Special Improvement District No. 55 for the purpose of making additions anal improve ments to the sewer system on Firth Street was presented and read, After some discuss ions it was referred to the Committee, on Sewers` who reported back recommending the passage of said resolution. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted` and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be ha.d to place Resolution No, all Aldermen present that Resolution. No, voted "Aye" and said dopted, RESOLUTION NO. 257 256 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call, voted "Aye". It was then moved and seconded X56 be passed and adopted. All Aldermen present Resolution No. 256 was declared passed' and a- Being a Resolution of Intention to create Special Improvement District No. 56 for the purpose of making additions and improve- meats to the Water system oA Fifth Street was presented and read. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted ""yew It was then moved. and seconded that Resolution No 257 be passed and adopted, All Aldermen present voted "Ayes" and said. Resolution, NA. 257 was declared passed and a- dop ted, RESOLUTION NO, 253 Being a Resolution of Intention to create `Special Improvement District No. 57 for the purpose of making additions and improve- ments to the sidewalks on Sixth Street, was presented and read. After some discussion, it was referred to the Committee on Streets and Alleys who reported back` -recommending the passage of said resolution. It was moved and seconded that the report` of the Com- mittee be adopted and that the unanimous convent and vote of the Council be had to place Resolution No. 258 upon its immediate pass- age, Upon roll eall, all Aldermen present voted ITe". It was then moved and seconded that Resolution No* 258 be passed and adopted. All Aldermen present voted "Aybu and said Resolution Ylo. 258 was declared passed and adopted, RESOLUTION NO, 259. Being a Resolution of Intention to create Special Improvement District No, 58 for the purpose of making additions and improve- , meets to the sidewalks on East Sixth `Street and. Colorado .venue, ,was presented and read. After some discussion.,, it .s referred to the Committee on Streets and Alleys who reported back recom- mending the passage of said resolution. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted end that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to place Resolution No, 259 259 be passed and adopted, All Aldermeen present voted "lye" and sand Resolution No. 259 was declared passed and adapted.- Reso lut ion No. 260 Being a Resolution of Intention to create Special Improvement 'District No, 59 for the purpose of making additions and improve- ments to the paving on First", Avenue- between Ilan Street and. First Street, was presented and read. After some discussion., it was referred to the Street and Alley Committee who reported back recommending the passage of said resolution. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to place Reso- lution. No. 260 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted "Aye" It_ was then moved and seconded that Resolution No, 260 be passed and adopted. All Aldermen present voted "Aye T and said Resolution No 260 was declared passed and adopted. It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn until 8:00 o'clock' P. M,, Friday, the 30th day of June, 1922, for the consideration of the bids submitted for Special Improvement Dis- trices Nos. 5 and 54 and other business proper for consideration at that time, The motion carried.
