Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
a period of twenty (20) years with a right of -renewal and extension
for a period of ten (10) years after the expiration of the said
twenty (20) year period. Rental for such ten (10) year period to
be determined by arbitrators, and providing further that the said
lessee shall have a right o f rer.nDval of any or all buildings or
Tixtures at any time prior to the expiration of their rights under
the new agreement.. The motion carried.
It was r.ioved and, seconded that the Clerk be instructed
to advertise for bids for the construction of street and alley
crossings that the City Council might require constructed during
the year 1922. The mot ion carded.
the Clerk read a communication from the Chief Engineer
of the State Highway Co,-,,miiss ion in regard to the paving of Hain
Street and a resolution relative thereto in yrhich he stated that.
the proposed Resolution of intention had been approved by the
State Highway `Commission and the office of the attorney General.

Resolution llo, 249, being a Resolution of Intention to.
create Special .improvement :district No. 53 of the City of Laurel
for the paviizg- ai:Ld draining Idain Street, betiieen alder avenue and
the 'crest City Limits, was presented and read. after some discus-
sion, it was referred to the Committee on Street and alleys who
reported back recommending the passage of said Resolution. It
was moved. and seconded that the re-,,oort of the Committee be adopted
and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to
place Resolution No. 249 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll
ca' 1, all -Aldermen present voted IT Aye 7' . It was then moved and
seconded that Resolution lio. 249 be passed and adopted. Upon roll
call, all Lldermen present voted "Aye" and said Resolution lio. 249
was declared passed and adopted.
RE30LUIIOIi 110. 250.
Resolution No. 250, being a Resolution of Intention to
Create Special Improver-,lent :District ho. 54 of the City of Laurel
for the construction of a drainage sewer on the south side of
i;?ain Street, between alder avenue and Seventh Avenue, was present-
ed and read. ;after some discussion, it was referred to the Com-
mittee on Streets and Lileys who reported back recommending the
passage of said Resolution. It was moved and seconded that the
report of the Committee be adopted and that the unanimous consent
and vote of the. Council be had to -glace resolution No. 2,50 upon
its iri?mediate passage. Upon roll call, all aldermen present voted.
"Aye IT. It was then moved and seconded that Resolution No. 250 be
passed ezid adopted. Upon roll call, all aldermen present voted
"aye" and said Resolution T1o. 250 was declared passed and adopted.
This being the date fixed for the hearing and passing
aeon protests against the creation of Special Improvement District
No. 50, the iIayor, called for the protests on file. The Clerk re-
-ported that no such protests had been received and produced proof
of publication anal mailing as required by the said Resolution of
Intention. `jVhereu.pon, it was moved and seconded that there being
no protests filed that the Council proceed to the creation of the
said District. The -o t? on carried.

Resolution No. 251, being a Resolution creating Special
Improver,Bnt District No. 50 of the City of Laurel, designating the
boundaries thereof as defined by Resolution No. 246 and referring
to said Resolution, same being the Resolution of Intention to
create said District, was presented and read. after some discus-
sion, it was referred to a Committee consisting of Vordahl, Kenyon
and Price who reported back recommending the _cassaSe of said Reso-
lution. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Commit-
tee be adopted and that the unanimous consent and vote of the
Council be had to place Resolution No. 251 upon its immediate
passage. Upon roll call, all Zaldermen present voted. ".A}y6ll, It
was then moved and seconded that Resolution No. 251 be passed and
adopted. Upon roll call, all 'ldermen. present voted "Aye" and
said Resolution No. 251 was declared passed- and adopted.

Ordinance No. 237, beini an, ordinance providing for the
receiving of bids and the letting of a contract for the construction
of irtiprovements in Special Improvement District T,TO• 50 was ire

sented and read. After some discussion, it was referred to a
Committee consisting of Vordahl, Kenyon and. Price. After due
deliberation, the Committee reported back recommending its immed-
iate passage. It was moved and seconded that the report of the
Committee be adopted and that the unanimous consent and vote of
the Council be had to place Ordinance No, 237 on its immediate
passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted "Aye", It
was moved and seconded that Ordinance No. 237 be passed and
adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted "Aye" and
the said Ordinance was declared passed and adopted,

RESOLUTION 140. 252.
Resolution No, 252, being a Resolution creating Special
Improvement District No. 51 of the City of Laurel, designating the
boundaries thereof as defined by Resolution. No. 247 and referring
to said Resolution, same being the Resolution of Intention to
create said District, was presented and read. After some discus-
sion, it was referred to the Committee on Sewers who reported back
recommending the passage of said Resolution. It was moved and
seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted and that the
unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to place Resolu-
tion No. 252 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted "Aye". It was then moved and seconded that
Resolution No. 252 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted "Aye" and said Resolution No. 252 was de-
clared passed and adopted,
ORDINANCE NO. 238
Ordinance No. 238, being an ordinance providing for the
receiving of bids and the letting of a contract for the construction
of improvements in Special Improvement District No, 51, was pre-
sented and read. After some discussion, it was referred to the
Committee on Sewers. After due deliberation, the Committee re-
ported back recommending its immediate passage. It was moved and
seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted and that the
unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to place Ordinance
No. 238 on its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen
present voted "Aye". It was moved and seconded that Ordinance
No. 238 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen pres-
ent voted "Aye" and the said Ordinance was declared passed and
adopted. '
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The
motion carried.
