Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
March 71 1922.
The City Cotiuicil of the City of Laurel met in reg-aiar
session in the Council Chamber at the City Hall and was called

The minutes of the regular meeting of February 21st and
a special meeting of lurch lst were read and approved.
The reports of the City Treasurer and City Clerk and
Water Commissioner were read and approved.

The Committee, appointed at the regular meeting of
February 21st to invest1gat e the petition filed by those living
outside of the City Limits to have the surcharge on water reeked,
reported that they did not feel justified in recommending a re-
duction. It was moved and seconded that the report of the Com-
mittee be adopted. The motion carried.
The Committee on Light and Fester reported recommending
a charge of ten cents (10?) per hundred cubic feet on all water
used for irrigation purposes in excess of the first four hundred
cubic feet during the months of May, June, July, August and Sep-
tember. It was moved by Councilman Hageman and seconded by
Councilman Clark-_lth.at the report of the Committee be adopted and
the Water Commissioner make application to the Public Service
Commission for the rate named. The motion carried.
The bills for the month of February were referred to
the Committee on Finance and After due deliberation, the Com=mittee recommended the payment of the following bills:

A bill of Tim Reardon was held pending further investigation.

Goozey fire were disallowe d. It was moved and seconded that

the report of the Committee be adopted and the Clerk be in-
structed to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payment
of the bills allowed. The ?notion carried.
The 1.11ayor called attention to the Treasurer's report
in which the General Fund account was overdrawn. It was moved
and seconded that the City Clerk and City Treasurer confer with
Alderman U.ageman, chairman of the Street and Alley Committee,
and draft a resolution transferring that surplus in excess of
this years requirement in the Street Fund to the General Fund.
The motion carried.
The Mayor reported that E. W. Snyder had stated that
he did not have time to do the gas inspection. :thereupon, it
was moved by Councilman Hageman and seconded by Councilman
5ausman that Mr. Frank L-16oney be appointed to take his place
to serve without compensation. The motion carried..
Councilman Richardson arrived at the Council Chamber
at this time and participated in the further actions of the
council.
Resolutions Nos. 235, 236, 23'7, 238, 239 and 240,
being resolutions refunding that part of assessments spread
for delinquencies in the 1921 tax levy in Special Improvement
Districts Nos. 8, 9, 7, 69 12 and 3 respectively, were read.
After due deliberation, the resolutions referred to were re-
ferred to the Finance Committee who recommended back the im-
mediate passage of each of the resolutions referred to. It was
moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be adopted
and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had
to place Resolutions Nos. 235, 2361 2372 238, 239 and 240 upon-
their immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present
voted "Aye'''. It was then moved and seconded that Resolutions
Nos. 235, 2369 2371 2389 239 and 240 be passed and adopted and
upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted "Aye" and said reso-
lutions were declared passed and adopted.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The
?notion carried,
