Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
August 21, 1923.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber and was called to order by Mayor
H. A. Carlisle at 8:00 P. M., August 21, 1923.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Coy
Gum
Hageman
Knudsen
Perry
Wo ld
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 7th
and the adjourned regular meeting of August 14th were read
and approved.

RESOLUTION NO. 290.
Resolution No. 290, being a resolution levying and.
assessing all the property embraced within Special Improvement
District No, 54 of the City of Laurel with the entire cost of
the improvements made therein, was presented for final passage,
The Clerk produced affidavit showing proper publication in the
Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that no protests had
been received. It was moved by Alderman Mold and seconded by
Alderman Perry that final passage and approval of this reso-
lution be made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted
aye. `thereupon, the Mayor declared Resolution No. 290 finally
passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO. 291.
Resolution No. 291, being a resolution levying and
assessing all the property embraced within Special Improvement
District No. 53 of the City of Laurel for the entire cost of the
improvements' made therein, was presented for final passage,
The Clerk produced affidavit showing proper publication in the
Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that no protests had
been received. It was moved by Alderman Knudsen and seconded by
Alderman Hageman that final passage and approval of this reso-
lution be made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted
aye. Thereupon, the Mayor declared Resolution No. 291 finally
passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO. 292.
Resolution No. 292, being aresolution levying and
assessing all the property embraced within Special Improvement
District No. 55 of the City of Laurel for the entire cost of
improvements made therein, was presented for final passage.
The Clerk produced affidavit showing proper publication in the
Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that no protests had
been received. It was moved by Alderman Knudsen and seconded
by Alderman Wold that final passage and approval of this reso-
lution be made, Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted
aye. Thereupon, the Mayor declared Resolution No. 292 finally
passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO. 293.
Resolution No. 293, being a resolution levying and
assessing all the property embraced within Special Improvement
District No. 56 of the City of Laurel for the entire cost of
improvements made therein, was presented for final" passage.
The Clerk produced affidavit showing proper publication in the
Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that no protests had
been received. It was moved by Alderman old and seconded by
Alderman Perry that final passage and approval of this reso-
lution be made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted
aye. Thereupon, the Mayor declared Resolution No. 293 finally
passed and adopted.

RESOLUTION NO. 295.
Resolution No.. 295, being a resolution assessing taxes
for the payment: of the cost of sprinkling in Sprinkling Improve-
ment District No. 1 of the City of Laurel, was presented for
final passage. The Clerk produced affidavit showing proper pub-
lication in the Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that no
protests had been received. It was moved by Alderman. Coy and
seconded by Alderman Perry that final passage and approval of
this resolution be made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present
voted aye. Thereupon, the Mayor.declared Resolution No. 295
finally passed and adopted,
RESOLUTION NO. 296.
Resolution No. 296, being a resolution levying and
assessing all the property embraced within Special Improvement
Lighting District No. 1 of the City of Laurel with three-fourths
of the cost of maintenance and current for the year 1923, was
presented for final passage. The Clerk produced affidavit
showing proper publication in the Laurel Outlook and informed
the Council that no protests had been received. It was.moved by
Alderman. Wold and seconded by Alderman Knudsen that final passage
and approval of thin .resolution be made. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted aye. Thereupon, the Mayor declared
Resolution No. 296 finally passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO. 2976
Resolution No. 297, being a resolution levying and
assessing all the property embraced within Special Improvement
Lighting Listrict'No, 2 of the City of Laurel with three.-fourths
of the cost of maintenance and current for the year 1923, was
presented for final passage. The Clerk produced affidavit
showing proper publication in the Laurel Outlook and informed
the Council that no protests had been received. It was moved by
Alderman Told and seconded by Alderman Knudsen that final passage
and approval of this resolution be made. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted aye. Thereupon, the Mayor declared
Resolution No, 297 finally passed and adopted,
RESOLUTION NO. 298.
Resolution No. 298, being a resolution levying and
assessing a special tag against certain designated property
for the removal of garbage, snow, weeds and refuse, was.presented
for final passage. The Clerk produced affidavit shorting, proper
publication in the Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that
no protests had been received. It was moved by Alderman. Knudsen
and seconded by Alderman Coy that final passage and approval of
this resolution be made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present
voted aye, Thereupon, the Mayor declared Resolution. No. 298
filially passed and adopted,
RESOLUTION NO, 299.
Resolution No, 299, being a resolution levying and
assessing a special tax against property herein described for
tapping into trunk line sewer created by Special Improvement
District No. 3 of the City of Laurel, was presented-for final
passage, The Clerk produced affidavit showing proper pub-
lication in the Laurel Outlook and informed the Council that
no protests had been received. It was moved by Alderman
Knudsen and seconded by Alderman Coy that final passage and
approval of this resolution be made. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted ape. Thereupon, the Mayor declared
Resolution No, 299 finally passed and adopted,
The Hayor called for a report of the committee that
was appointed to investigate the claim of Sam Freund... Mr. Coy
stated that Mr. Price was chariman of the committee and 'did not
care to make a report without him. Thereupon, the :Mayor in-

structed them to file their report at the next regular meeting.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjoin. The
motion carried.
