A meeting of the city council of the city of Laurel,
Yellowstone County, 1Iontana, was held in the Council Chambers
(the usual meeting place), in said city, on Friday, the 14th
day of September, A. L. 1923, at the hour of 8 o'clock P. 1d. . at
which there were present:
H. A. Carlisle, lVIayor;
Councilmen B. L. Price, B. B. Hageman, 0. M. Wold,
H. C. Knudsen, R. E. Coy, Ed Gum, Charles E. Perry.
Absent Councilman J. F. Nicola.
Also present, City Clerk, T. A. Rigney;
The following, among other things, was had and done t
naively:
The Clerk announced that pursuant to the provisions of
Ordinance No. 268 of said city, notice of intention to issue and
sell certain bonds of the city hereinafter described, at public
auction, to the bidder offering the highest bid therefor, was
published each week for four (4) consecutive calender weeks in
"The Laurel Outlook," a weekly newspaper printed, published and
of general circulation in said city-, in the issues thereof of
August 15, August 22, August 29, September 5, and in the "Few
York Herald" a daily newspaper printed and published in New York
City, in the issues thereof of August 16 to Se-ptember 13, inclus-
ive, as more fully appears from the following publishers affi-
davits of -publication, to-wit:

Campbell Calvert being first duly sworn,
deposes and Says: That he is the fore-
man of The Laurel Outlook, a weekly
newspaper published every Wednesday in
the City of Laurel, in the County of
Yellowstone, State of Montana, and has
charge of the advertisements thereof:
That the Notice of Bond Sale a true copy
of which is hereunto annexed, was pub-
lished in the regular and entire issue
of said newspaper for 4 successive issues,
commencing on the 15th day of August,
1923, and ending on the 5th day of Sept.
1923, (both days inclusive), making in
all four publications.

And upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously
carried, the clerk was instructed to and did then and there
spread the said affidavits in full upon the records at this
meeting, to become a part thereof.
Moved by Councilman B. L. Price, seconded by Councilman
B. B. Hageman and with unanimous consent, it was ordered that the
Council now sell, at public auction, each series of bonds described
in the notice of sale hereinbefore appearing, and in -pursuance to
the same.
The said auction having been duly and lawfully held,
disclosed that no bids for bonds payable on the amortization
elan were submitted and that the joint bids of Crosby, 4icConnell
& Company of Denver and Stern Brothers and Company of Kansas
City, for each series of bonds, payable serially from one to
twenty years, was the highest and best bid received, they offer-
ing and agreeing to purchase said bonds bearing 6% interest at, a
price exceeding their par value, together yvith all accrued interest
thereon to date of delivery; and u-?on motion duly made, seconded
and unanimously carried, it was decided and ordered that the said
bids of Crosby, McConnell and Company and Stern Brothers and Com-
pany submitted at said auction sale for each series of bonds
bearing 6o interest, and at a price in excess of their oar value
and accrued interest thereon to date of delivery--be acce-?')ted.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, it was thereupon moved, seconded and duly carried that
the council adjourn.
