The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to order by Mayor Prank Wright at 8;00 P. M., Larch 20, 1923. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present: Vordahl Carlisle Clark Hageman Knudsen Price Richardson ado ld The minutes of the regular meeting of March 6th and special meetings of March 12th and March 16th were read and approved. Mr. Ralph D Moores, a Portland bond dealer, appear6d before the Council with a proposition to refund outstanding warrants in which he agreed to fund the outstanding warrants up to Junes 15, 19239 in which he guaranteed to bid par, plus the expense of proceedings. It was moved by Price and seconded by Vordahl that his proposition with two amendments attached be accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk be instructed to enter into a contract for same. The motion carried. The contract for storage of the fire truck was read and approved. ORDIN.,iUCE- NO. 262. " Ordinance No. 262, being an ordinance revising and amending Ordinance No. 90 of the Town of Laurel, Montana, and providing for the passage of resolutions and levying of assessments against property abutting and tapping into the public sewer created by Special Improvement District No, 3 of the City of Laurel, was offered and presented by Alderman Clark, whereupon, at the direction of the Mayor, the same was ?•• duly read by the City Clerk and placed upon its passage. It was moved by Alderman Price and seconded by alderman Vordahl _u that the said ordinance be passed. Upon roll call, the fol- lowing Aldermen voted aye: Price, Richardson, Carlisle, Hageman, Clark, Knudsen, Vordahl; Alderman Vold voting no; and the said ordinance was declared originally passed. The Mayor referred the ordinance to a committee consisting of Clark, Price and Richardson with instructions to report thereon at the next regular meeting, being the meeting of April 3, 1923, and before the final vote of adoption on said ordinance. ORDIN_0CE NO. 263. Ordinance No. 263, being an ordinance revising and amending Ordinance No. 79 of the Town of Laurel, Montana, and/ providing for the passage of resolutions and levying of assessments against propertyrAbutting and connecting up with the water mains of the City of Laurel, was offered and pre- sented by Alderman Vordahl, whereupon, at the direction of the Mayor, the same was duly read by the City Clerk and placed upon its passage. It was moved by Alderman Carlisle and seconded by Alderman Richardson that the said ordinance be passed. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen voted aye; Price, Richardson, Carlisle, Hageman, Clark, Knudsen, Vordahl; Alderman old voting no; and the said ordinance was declared originally passed. A communication from the Billings Gas Company in which they agreed to accept warrants temporarily was read and ordered filed. Crutcher, John Symmonds. Second Ward--Clerks; Mrs. B. McNeill, Tars. E, H. Funk. Judges Mrs. T. J. Third Ward--Cle rks Judges : Mrs. Chas. Fourth Ward--Clerks Liltz. Judges; Mrs. D. R. Diltz. Click, H. T. Nelson, M. Be Dye. Tom Ramsey, Mrs. Olive Shay. Clark, V. 0. Noel, Mary Noel. Mrs. Rosetta Bell, Mrs. Minnie Hopkins, Mrs. Geo. Patterson, L. E, Mr. Fly appeared to inquire about backfilling the ditches in Special Improvement Districts Nos. 55 and 56 and asked if the City would guarantee payment for the work. The Council informed him that they were not able to guarantee pay- ment for the work and the City Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Evans in regard to the completion. Mr. Wold stated that the Fire Chief had requested that a telephone be installed somewhere near the intersection of Main Street and First Avenue for the purpose. of fire calls.
