The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular,
sOssion in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and,was called
, , 1923,

Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
present;

The minutes of the regular meeting of February 20th
Ell, and special meeting of February 24th were read and approved.
The reports of the Chief of Police, Police Judge and
Chief of Fire Department for the month of February and. Water ?I
Commissionert's and City Treasurer's reports for the month of
January were read and approved.
The bills for the month of February were referred to
the Committee on Finance and after due deliberation the Com-
mittee reported back recommending the payment of the follow-
ing bills: Laurel Outlaok 41.10 Billings Gas Go, 27.66

A bill for Julius Pearse Fire Department Supply Co. for $46.00
was held pending explanation of the purchase by the Fire
Department without the consent of the Council, It was moved
by Clark and seconded by Richardson that the report of the
Committee be adopted and that the Clerk be instructed to draw
warts-nts upon the propeffunds in payment of the bills allowed.
The motion carried.
Estimate No, 4 of Special Improvement District No,
539, Federal Aid. Broject No., 57, showing work eompletedd to III
N ember 28, 1922, in. the net,'amount of 245.'70, was presented
and read. It was moved by Hageman and seconded by Price that
estimate be approved and the City reasurer be instructed to
pay Wickham Bros. acid Sehwieger the amount of this estimate
plus 4169.15, the odd; amount in Estimate No. 3' that eras not
paid at the time of that- estimate,' making a total of $414.85.
The motion carried. ii
The contract and bond of J. S. Brohau.gh for pumping I
was presented and .read., It was moved and seconded that a
clause be inserted whereby the contract could be cancelled
should the City and Northern Pacific combine their pumping

plants. The motion carried.
The resignation of E. W. Snyder as Fire Chief was ..
read. It was moved and seconded that the resignation be
accepted. The motion carried.
A letter from Ralph D. Moores, municipal bond dealer,
in regard to a refunding bond issue was read. It was moved
and seconded that the letter be filed. The motion carried.
A letter from the Volunteer Fire Department notifying
the Mayor and City Council that they had chosen 0, H, Bundy as
Fire Chief was read, but no action was taken on the matter.
It was moved and. seconded that we do now adjourn. The
