Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
November 18, 1924.
The City. Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor H, A. Carlisle at 8:00 o'clock P. M, November
18, 1924.
present;
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
Wold
Porter
Nicola
Graves
Gum
The minutes of November 4th and November 5th were read
and approved.
The report of the Water Commissioner for the months of
duly, August and September were read and approved.
A. letter from Mr, Ed Boyd relative to the low,spot
on Third Avenue in front of his property and that of W, C
Phillips, addressed to J. F. Nicola, Member of the Street and
Alley Committee was read* It was moved by Wold and seconded
by Porter that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to fig
the street if it could be done for an amount not exceeding
015,04. The motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 2780
Ordinance No, 278, being an ordinance revising and amending
Article 3 of Ordinance No, 228 relating to license for Hard-
ware, Electric Supplies, IQs and Draymen, was pr4sented and
read. After some discussion, it was referred to a committee
consisting of Wold, Gum and Porter. After due deliberation,
the Committee reported.back recommending its immediate
passage. It was moved by Weld and seconded by Porter that
the report of the Committee be adopte and that the unanimous
consent of the Council be had to ,sePrdinan.ce Teo. 228 upon
its immediate passage, Upon roll eaall, all Aldermen present
voted aye. It was moved by Wold and seconded by Nicola that
Ordinance No'!, 278 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance was declared
passed and adopted,
ORDINANCE NO. 2'79.
Ordinance No. 279, being an ordinance repealing Section 23
of Ordinance No. 228, relating to the posting of ordinances
within the City of Laurel, was presented and read, After

of Fold, Porter and Nicola. After due deliberation, the
Committee reported back recommending its immediate passage.
It was moved Hy Wold and seconded by Porter that the report
of the Committee be adopted and that the unanimous consent
of the Council be had to Pkas Ordinance No, 2'79 upon its
immediate passage. Upon roll ca 1, all Aldermen present
voted aye. It was moved,by Weld and seconded by Porter that
Ordinance No, 279 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all
aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance was declared
passed and adopted,
The Clerk reported that the City Treasurer had
requested instruction in regard to the payment of bonds or
interest. in. Special Impno vement District No. ?, After some
discussion as to whether or not the interest should be paid
on all outstanding bonds before the retirement of the next
bond in line for. payment, it was moved and seconded that the
City Attorney be instructed to write the First National Bank
of Columbus, Ohio, the holder of these bonds and procure a
waiver in order that no litigation would follow from the
payment of.a bond before the interest was paid,on the re-
maining bon&s, The motion carried.
it was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn.
