.The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor H. A. Carlisleat 8:00 o'clock P. M. August 5,
1924.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
present;

The minutes of the meeting of . July 15t h were reall and
approved.
This being the time set for receiving bids for the
construction of improvements in Special Improvement District
No. 62, the Mayor instructed the Clerk to Qpen.and read the
bids submitted, which were as follows:,

It was moved by Wold and seconded by Perry that the Mayor
appoint a committee to tabulate the bids submitted. The motion

carried. Thereupon, the Mayor appointed Wold, Coy and Perry.
After due deliberation, the Committee reportfid back recommending
that the "bid of J. J. Burley for cast iron, Class B, pipe be
accepted. The motion carried.
After some discussion of Crane Cots. dills, it was
moved and seconded that payment of $7500,00 be made on their
account and that the balance of X1404,.24 be held pending credit
memorandum referred to at the last meeting of the City Council,
and that a committee be appointed to act with the Mayor in the
settlement of the disputed amount of their claim. The motion
carried. Thereupon, the Mayor named the Water Committee, con.-
listing of Wold, Perm and Lib ecap to negotiate with Crane Ca.
Miss Sturm appeared before the Council and stated that
it would be necessary to have some help on the tag books. After
some discussion, it was moved by Wold and seconded by Porter
that the Mayor be instructed to assist her in obtaining help
immediately. The motion carried.
The reports of the City Treasurer, Chief of Police,
Police Judge and eater Commissioner were read and approved.

Resolution No 307, being a resolution and assessing
all the property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting
District !,,To, I of the City of Laurel
Montana
with three-fourths

of the entire cost and maintenance and electric current for the
year 1924, was presented and read. It was moved by Coy and
seconded by Wold that said resolution be ;provisionally passed.
Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolu-
tion was declared provisionally passed.
RESOLYTION 130. 308.
Resolution Do. 308, being a resolution levying and
assessing all of the property embraced within Special Improve--
went Lighting :District No. 2 of the City of Laurel, Montana, j
with three-fourths of the entire cost of maintenance and
electric current for the year 1924, was presented and read.
It was moved by Wold and seconded by Coy that said resolution
be provisionally passed. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present
voted.aye and said resolution was declared provisionally passed.
RESOLUTION NO. 3090 A
Resolution No. 309, being a resolution levying and
assessing a special tag against certain designated property
for the remov&1- of Garbage, Snow, Weeds? and Refuse, was presented
and read. It was moved by Gum and seconded by Coy that said
resolution be provisionally passed. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared
provisionally passed.
RESOLUTION NO. 310,
Resolution No. 310, being a resolution levying and
assessing a special tax against property herein d.6scribed for
tapping into grater mains of the City of Laurel, 1t°1ontana, not
included in any special improvement district, was presented
and read. It was moved by Nicola and seconded by Gum that
said resolution be provisionally passed. Upon roll call, all
Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared
provisionally passed. a
The bills for the month of July were referred to the
Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee
reported back recommending that the following bills be paid
and that warrants be drawn upon the proper funds in payment
thereof:

The Committee further reported approval of the following bills
with the recommendation that the same be conditionally allowed
and that the clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the
proper funds in payment thereof as soon as sufficient funds are
available for payment thereof, but not otherwise

Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
August 5, 1924.
It was moved and seconded that the report of the committee be
adopted and that the warrants be issued in the manner recommended
by the committee. The motion carried,.
After some discussion,of claims considered to be
emergency, it was moved and seconded that discussion of them be
postponed until the next regular meeting of the City Council.
The motion carried.
It was moved and-seconded that sae do now adjournp The
motion carried.
