The City Goun.e it of the Oity of Laurel met in regular
session in the Oeuneil Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor H. A. Carlisle at 8:00 P M. March 18 1924.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
present:
Knudsen
Hageman
Gum
Mold
Nicola.
Perry
The minutes of February 19th and March 4th were read
and approved.
Mr, George Shearer appeared before the Council and
complained that Mrs. W. H. Steinke was making trouble f®r him-
self and family* After, some discussion, it was decided that
the complaint shovId either be handled in the police -court or
the jvvenile court.
_9_ )tazzantti appeared before the Council in order to
ascertain if the -placing of a partition: came within the meaning
of the ordinance referri to repairs. After soma discussion,
it was decided that this was not covered by ordinance.
ORD INANPE 30,. 874.
Ordinance No"* 4749 being an ordinance revising and
amending Article of Ordinance No, 228, being the Revised:
Ordinances of the. pity oil Laurel, pertaining to licenses for
blacksmith, hotel din.in.g?roeffi, hotel risers, oil stations and
Vulcanizing shops, was presented and read, Thereupon, it was
referred to a eommi.ttee consisting of Goy, Hageman and told.
after due deliberation, the committee reported back reooM10Ad-
ing its immediate passage. It was moved by Wold and seconded.
.by Perry that the report of the committee be adopted and that
the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to ;place
Ordinance No, 274 upon its immediate passage. ' Upon: roll aa1.19
all Aldermen present voted aye. It was moved by Snndsen and
seconded by Hagaman that 'Ordin.ance No, 27,$
be passed and
Adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and
said ordinance was declared passed and adopted.
After some discussion of the minors being on the
street at night, it was moved by Hagemsn and seconded by.Gum,
that the Mayor notify the Ohief of Police to ring the curfew,

l and to print a notice in the Laurel, Outlook tb t the
ordinance referring to the curfew would be ` enforced., The
motion curried.
After some- discussion of a suitable time for ad-
vertising for bids for the materials necessary for the con-,
struotion of the settling basin, it was moved by Wold and
seconded by Knudsen that the City Clem be irtstrtzat®d to
publish notice in the Laurel Outlook for one issue that bids
would be received for these materials the let day of April,
1924. The motion carried.
The following named places were designated as
polling places for the regular City Election :of April 7 1924:
First Ward: Mrs. Julia BrQhau
Second Ward; City Hall,
Third Ward.; Hagoman Grocery Store,
f" '°I Fourth Ward: iii. F Hotel.
