submitted. After examining bids submitted, the con-rai_ttee re-
ported "rack to the Council recommending that contract be let
,
to Crane Co. for Matheson Joint Wipe in acco rdance with their
bid submitted and that one of the conditions of acceptance be
that the Tvorthern Pacific Railway Con,-,,.)any be given the haul
between the 1innesota Transfer and Laurel. It was moved and
seconded that the re-rort of the committee be adorted and that
contract be entered into in accordance with the re-rort of the
committee. The motion carried.
After some discussion of the bills _presented by the
6_rag stores for fumigators
it was moved and seconded that the
,
City Clerk be instructed to notify the Health Officer to have
-fumigators charged to the people who had the work done. The
motion carried.
The reports of the City Treasurer, Chief of Police,
-soli ce Judge and ',`'..later Commissioner for the previous month
were read and arproved.
A communication from the American Bank recsuesting
permiss ion to renew the insurance for the Fire Derartment
was read. After some discussa_on of ways of pa.n.g for the
,r_olicy, it was moved and. seconded that the Committee on Fire

and Police, consisting of Hageman, Nicola and Price, be in-
structed to negotiate with the Fire De-,partment to see if and
arrangements could be made for the payment of the -policy. The
motion carried.. -"
,petition for special improvement district on lvlain
Street for cast iron water mains was ?resented and read. It
was moved and seconded that the petition be temporarily tabled.
The motion carried.
A petition for the construction of a sidewalk on
Fourth Street between Wyoming and Pennsylvania avenues by
Peter Knudson was prdsented and read. It tiaas moved and
seconded that the petition be tabled. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn.
The motion carried.
