January 2, 1924.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
adjourned session in the Council Chamber in the City Mall and
was called to order by Mayor H. A. Carlisle at 8:00 o'clock
P. 3?1. January 2, 19 24 .
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
present:

Knudsen
Perry
Hageman
Coy
The minutes of &mw a 18th were read and approved.
The bills for the month of December Were presented and
were by the Mayor referred to the Finance Committee who retired
for audit and report on same. Gum and Hagemen being absent, the
Tllayor appointed Price and Perry to serve on the :Finance Commit-
tee for this meeting. The Committee, after due deliberation;
reported back to the Council recommending that the following
bills-be ?paid and that warrants be drawn upon the, proper funds
in payment` of the same;

The Committee further reported approval of the following bills
with the recommendation that the same be conditionally allowed
and that the Clerk be authorized to draw warrants -upon the
proper funds in payment of the sane as soon as the money is
available for the payment thereof, but not otherwise;

It was moved and seconded that the report of the finance com-
mittee be adopted and that warrants be issued in payment in
the manner recommended by the committee. The motion carried.
The resignation of George Lonne as Police Judge' was
read. It was moved by Price and seconded by Perry that his
resignation be accepted. she motion carried.
it was moved by Perry and seconded by Knudsen that
M. R. Cooper be appointed Police Judge. The motion carried.
After some discussion 'of the matter of the police to

department, it was moved by Price and seconded by Perry that of
the services of 0' C. Bundy be discontinued and that George
H. Lonne be appointed as policeman on probation at $125.00
per month; that the City Nater Department pay .?p12.50 of thaf7, %
amount for his services for read-.Ing meters and that the gl-
ance of his salary be paid from the emergency fund. The

The committee appointed at the last regular meeting
to investigate the bonds held by the City Treasurer from the
American Hank reported and recommended the approval of one
bond of the Maryland Casualty Company in the amount of :5000.00

which expires January 202 19241 end bond No. 3091795 of the
National Casualty Company for q?5000.00 with rider -dated May
82 1922. It was moved. and seconded that the bonds be
approved as recommended by the committee. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn.
The motion carried.
