The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
se ss ion in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor H, 0. Knudson at 8:00 W clock P. M. Tuesday,
August 4, 1925
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
present:

The *innt e s of duly 21st and duly 22nd were read
and approve d.
The reports of the City Treasurer, Chief of Police and
Police Judze-.^were read and approved.

The Committee appointed at the previous meeting to
make report on the creasing on the Rocky Fork Branch of the
Northern Pacifio at South First Avemae reported that the crossing
as now maintained appe ared to be very dangerous and. reported
they could see no particular harm in closing the crossing. It
was reported that ]fir. Starkey objected to the closing of the
crossing. After some discussion, it was moved by Coy and seconded
by Weld that the report of the committee be accepted and that
Mr. Starker be request ed to appear at the next regular meeting
of the City Council and explain his objection. The motion carried.
The bills fo r the month of dully were referred to the
finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee
reported back receomme n.ding the payment of the following bills:

The Committee reported approval of the following bills with
the recommendation that same be conditionally allowed and the
Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the proper funds in
payment thereof as soon as sufficient funds are available for
payment thereof, but not otherwise;

It. was moved and seconded that the report of the committee be
adopted and that warrants be issued in the *anner recommended
by the committee. The motion carried.
Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
August 4, 1925.
It was moved by Coy_.and_ seconded by Fold that the bills of
John LeLacheur of $231.00, Dr. W. E. Tupper of $4.00, A. D.
Wallizer of 43.50, Laurel Oa.tlook of $12.00, Home Hotel of
$6.50, Sam Preund of 411.50, V. A. Leehner of X60.00 and
Laurel Auto Supply Co. of $6.40 be paid out of the Operating
Fund. The motion carried.
This being the time f i.xe d for receiving bids for the
construction of sidewalk on the South Side of Fourth Street
between Pennsylvania and ffyoming Avenues, the Clerk was in-
structed to open and read all bids. The bid of Harry Penninger
was opened and read. For 5 inch concrete sidewalk, 23g, for
grading, $1.00 per cubic Yard. It was moved by Corr and seconded
by Wold that the contract be awarded to Harry Penninger for the
amount specified in bid and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
to execute contract with said Harry Penninger. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn
until Tuesd.a.y, August llth, 1925, at 8:00 P. M,.
