The City Council of the City of laurel met, in an
adjourned regular meeting in the Council Chanber in the City
xa"11 and was called to order by Mayor H. C. Yhuasen at 8:00

The minutes of July 7, 1925, were reed and approved.

complained about the condust of the Dreamland Ranee Nall. alter
some discussion, it was moved ?md seconded that the City Attorney
be instructed to institute proceedings of abatei-nent against the
preamiand Dance Hall if necessary. "he motion carried.
Estimate Geo. 2, in the net amount of 0400.00, for
J. J. 3ur'ley, contractor, in Special lrnprovement District Teo.
63, was presented and read. it was moved by Wold and seconded
by Porter that the estimwte be allowed Gx that the !,.,eyor and
City Clerk be authorized to deliver bonds to the contractor in
t ie amount of X8400,00. The miotion carried.
The report, requested at -che last meeting of the City
Council, from the City Treasurer end City Clerk showing the
amounu- of business transacted in the -Police. Department, was
nears.. . 'Zie City littorney stated that under the Mate Lalras,
it was not -p ermisz; b le to increase an officer's salary while
in office. The Clerk bras instructed to so notify S4Ix°. Cooper.
