The City Council o f the Ci ty of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called . to order by Mayor H. C Znuds en at 8:00 o I cl o ck P, M, June 2, 1925. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present, Coy Gum Cham6e rl in ?i E"111 Vol d Perry The minutes of May 19th were, read and approved, The reports of the City Treasurer and Chief of Police were read and approved. The repo rt of the Police Judge was read. It was moved by Coy and seconded gy Gum that the report be returned for cor- rection and explanation, The motion carried. The bills for the month of Ilay were referred to the .Finance Cori nittee and after due deliberation, the committee reported back recommending the payment of the following bills: Marshall Wells Co, 61.80 O. The Committee reported approval of the following bills with the recommendation that same be conditionally allowed and the Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payment thereof as soon as sufficient funds are availab le for payment thereof, but not otherwise: Geo. The motion carried. It was moved and seconded that the bill for Val Lechner of .10.00 - and bill for City Water Dep ctment of $4.90 be paid out of the Operating Fund. The motion carried. A. letter from the Security Trust and Savings Company in which they stated that they would be willing. to act as depository for the City.of Lairel pending permanent arrangements here was presentedand read. Bond No. 340891-B of the Am er ican Surety Company of New York for 'era Sturm, City Rreas rer for ??10 000.00 was pre- sented and read. It was moved b.y.,.Wold and seconded by Coy that said bond be approved. The motion carried. After some discussion in regard to the sidewalk on the north side of Block Zl, Laurel Realty Subdivision, it was moved by Coy and seconded by Chamberlin that the City Clerk be in- structed to advertise for bic. The motioiL_carried. - .A letter from John Fry re Questing appointment as traffic officer was read. 1,1r, Coy reported that John LeLacheu.r had also recUested that he be appoiitted, . It was moved by Told and seconded by Coy that the Mayor be requested to engage a traffic officer at $6.00 per day. The motion carried.
