The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the. Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor H. G.. Knudsen at. 8:00 of eleck .P„ M. December 7,
1926.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Coy
Chamberlin.
Gum
Vordahl
Perry
Hartley
Graves
The minutes of November 16th were read and approved.
The report of the City Treasurer for the period ending
November 20th was presented and read. It was moved by Chamberlin
and seconded by Graves that the report be. approved. The motion
carried.
The reports of the Police 0ffieer and Police Judge
were read. It was moved by Coy and seconded by Perry that the.
reports be approved,. The motion carried,.
The report of the Dater commissioner was read and it
was moved by Perry and seconded by Coy that the report be ap-
proved. The motion carried.
The bills for the month of November were referred to
the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee
reported back recomme nding the payment of the following bills;

The Committee reporte d approval of the-following bills with the
recommendation that s ame be conditionally allowed and the Clerk'
be authorized to drag warrants upon the proper funds in payment
thereof as soon as sufficient funds are abailable for payment
thereof, but not othe rwise:

It was moved by Coy and seconded by Perry that the report of the
committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the mangier
recommended by the committee0_. The motion carried.
Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,.
December 7, 1926.
It was moved by Coy and seconded by Perry that the
bills of Billings Gas 'Coo for $7.18,.City Water Dept, for $11.69,
Mrs. dim. Fly for 7#70, Quilico Bros, for $15.00, Laurel Trading
Co.. for $2.0 and Vera Sturm for ,00 be paid out of the
Operating Fund. The motion carried.
The Mater Commissioner rega.ested instructions in regard
to rate for consumers living outside and carrying the water from
hydrants and was instructed that the surcharge should be added
in cases of that kind.
The City Attorney reported that the Fire Department had
requested financial assistance and all Aldermen present offered
their assistance on a subscription in order that their debts
might be paid.
The Mayor stated that it was time for some action to be
taken in regard to getting the appointment of a suitable deputy
sheriff and police by January lst. After some discussion, he-`was.
requested to interview the County Officers to see if a like
arrangement could be made.
It was moved by Coy and seconded by Gum that we do now
adjourn. The motion carried,
