The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber and was called to order by Mayor H. C. The minuted of June 16th were read and approved. The report of the acting Chief of Police was read and ._...? , app ro ve d. Brohaugh 13.00 The committee reported approval of the following bills with the recommendation that same be conditionally allowed and the Clerk be authorized to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payment thereof as soon as sufficient funds wxe available for payment thereof, but not otherwisez State of Montana 100.00 B. A Hartley 6,00 Geo Graves 6.00 It was moved and seconded that the report of the committee be acoepted and that warrants be issued in the manner recommended by the committee. The motion carried, It was moved and seconded that the bills of Laurel Outlook for $30l75,B. D. Shaffer for 45.00, Quilico Bros, for $5,00, E. W. Snyder for ;10,00, Vera Sturm for X50.00, and Northern Pacific Railway Co. for X1,00 be paid out of the operating fund. The motion carried. After some discussion of the Fire Truck and Fire De- partment, the IJayor instructed the Committee on Fire and Police to investigate and have a report ready for next meeting. 1Jx. Vordahl reported that the County Commissioners had informed him that any work or improvement on the South road would have to "be done )amder the direction of the State. Highway Commission as they.ha.d made such an agreement with them and that the State Highway Engineer had stated that he thought it was impossible to get,the fence built along the approach to the Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, July 6, 1926. bridge at this time. After some discussion of the graveling of South First Avenue, the Mayor instructed the Clerk to write the State Highway Commission and ascertain if :federal Aid was available for that kind of work. RESOLUTION NO. 3300 Resolution No. 330, being a Resolution Levying Taxes for General and Specific Purposes for the City of Laurel, Montana, for the Fiscal Year beginning May lst, 1926, was presented and read. It was moved:.by Hartley and seconded by Coy that said resolution be passed and adopted. Upon doll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed and adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 331 Resolution No 331, being a resolution Levying and Assessing all of the Property embraced within Specil°_Improvement Lightin District No. 1 of the City of Laurel, Montana, with Three-fourths of the en?ire cost of maintenance and electric Current for the Year 1926, was presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Porter that said resolution be pro- visionally passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said, resolution was declared provisionally passed and adopted.. RESOLUTION ho. 332. Resolution No, 332, being a resolution Levying and Assessing all of the Property Embraced with Special Improvement. Lighting District No. 2 of the City of Laurel, Montana, with Three-fourths of the. Entire cost of Maintenance and Electric current for the year 192,6_, was.presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by.Graves that said resolution be pre'- visionally passed and. adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present.voted aye and said resolution was declared provisionally passed and adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 333 Resolution No, 333, being a Resolution Levying and Assessing a Special .Tax against certain designated property for the Removal of Garbage, Snow, Weeds and Refuse, was presented and read. It was moved by Coy and seconded by Charmberlin that said resolution be provisionally passed and adopted. Uponrroll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared provisionally passed and adopted, RES OLUT IO14 NO. 334. Resolution No. 334, being a resolution creating.Special Improvement District No, 64 of the City of ,Laurel, designating the Boundaries theredS as defined by Resolution No, 329, passed by the City Council, of the City of Laurel and referring to said Resolution of Intention for further Particulars,, was presented and read.. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Chamberlin that said resolution be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed and,adopted, ORDINANCE NO, 285. { Ordinance No, 2859 being an Ordinance Providing for the receiving of bids. and the letting of a contract for the construction of Improvements in.Special Improvement District No, 64, was pre- sented and read.. After some discussion, it was referred to the committee on Streets and Alleys. After due deliberation, the committee reported_.back recommending its immediate passage. It bras- moved by Coy and seconded by Hartley that the report of the committee be adopted and that the unanimous consent and vote of the Council be had to place Ordinance No. 285 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. It was moved Hartley and seconded by Coy that said Ordinance , No, 285 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen Ares-ent .voted aye and said ordinance was Declared passed and adopted.. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, July 6. 1926. Mr. Fltzroth appeared before the Council and stated that he had made arrangements for the local Fire Department to sell a car at the County Fair this fall. The Mayor assured .him that the City Council appreciated his efforts and stated that he Wafild report the matter to the Fires Dllepartmen.t. After some discussion relative to the wire inspecting, it was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Coy that J, F. MacDonald be appointed assistant building inspector for the purpose of inspectingwirIng, the motion carried. It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn.
