The City Council of the Oity of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor H. C. Knudsen at 8:00 o'clock B. 1V1. ivilay 18, 1926,
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;

The minutes of 'May 4th were read and approved.
A letter from E. L. Fenton, requesting permission to
renew the insurance polio on the City Hall, was read. It was
moved and seconded that he be requested to renew the policy. The
motion carried.
A letter from the State Treasurer in regard to Exami-
nation fees was read and the Clerk was instructed to notify the
Treasurer that the.-.claim referred to had been approved and that
warrant would be issued as soon as funds were available.
The Clerk stated that the City Treasurer had requested
instructions in regard to Bert Sherrow's license, After some
discussion, it was moved and seconded that it be referred to a
committee for a report. The motion carried. Thereupon, the
Mayor appointed Vordahl,Hartley and Porter to serve as that com-
mittee ,
Mr. Heinz, Dr. McCauley, Mr. Bourne, Sherrow Bros,,
B. B. Hageman, Dr. Broughton, Clem miller and Foy Braswell ap-
peared before the Council to discuss the traffic regulation,
Afgier some discussion, it was moved by Cou and seconded by Hartley
that the appointment of a traffic officer be deferred until the
next meeting.. The motion carried.

Resolution No. 328, being a resolution levying and
assessing a tax upon all property in Special Improvement Dis-
trict No. 63 of the City of Laurel, Montana, was presentee)
for final passage, The Clerk produced proof of publication in
the Laurel Outlook and stated that no protests had been re-
ceived, It was moved by Alderman Coy and seconded byAlderman
Gum that Resolution No. 328 be finally passed and adopted.
Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said
resolution was declared finally passed and adopted,
A petition for the graveling of First ..venue, between
Main Street and First Street was read. It was moved by Coy and
seconded by Gum that the City Attorney and City Engineer be in-
structed, to proceed with the creation of a district. The motion
carr ie d.
It was moved by Coy and seconded by Gum that we do now
adjourn. The motion carried.
