Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,.
April 209 19260
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council. Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor H, C. Knudsen at 8:00 o'clock P. M April 20,
19269
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Coy
Porter
Gum
Chamb er 11

Wold
Perm'
Hartley
Graves
The minutes of April 6th axed April 12th were read.. and
approved.
The Mayor reported that he had had two or three appli-
cations for traffic officer aid asked the Council thought it
was time one should be employed, after some discussion, it was
decided to wait until a little later.
Mr. Cooper, Police Judge,-appeared before the Council
and requested an increase in salary during-the summer months. The
Mayor explained that it was impossible, under the Montana Statutes,
to change an elective offi cerT s salary during his term.
Miss Sturm, City Treasurer, appeared before the Council
and requested instructions in regard to a number of licenses,. It
was thought best not to attempt to -elect licenses from private,
houses,
The Water Commissioner reported that Louis A nest requested
the water turned on for irrigation purposes only, It eras moved and
sbcondd,&tthat the regal- ar rate per month be, applied, plus the irri-
gation. charge. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn, The
motion carried,
