The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
- session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to

order by Mayor H. C..Knudsen at 8:00 o'clock Janaary,
.Upon roll call, the following Aldermen. answered 'present;

The minutes of Debe_mbeT 15th were read and approved.
The report 'of the Chief of Police was read. a.nd approved.
The report of the Police Judge was read and referred
back to him for correction.
Rhe report of the City. Treasurer was ream :and. approved.
The report of the water Commissioner was rea&tand
approved.
A letter from Eels Vordahl in regard to South First
Avenue crossing was read and ordered filed, `
The Water Commissioner reported.that the Trustees of
the German Congregational Church had requested a r eduction in
'
the rate for their church. After some discussion, it was moved
and seconded that no attempt would- a made to have the #tates
changed.
The Water Commissioner reported that the sprinkling
tgak was being abused by hauling water to the coun try. After
some discussion, it was moved and seconded that it be not al-
lowed to be taken out to the country, The motion carried.
The bills for the month of December were referred to
the Finance Committee. Coy being absent, the Mayo r requested
councilman Perry to serve' in his. stead,. After due deliberation,
the committee reported back recommending the payme nt of the
following bills

It was moved and seconded that the report of the committee be
adopted and that warrants be issued in the manner recommended
by the committee. The motion carried,-

It was gloved and seconded that the bills. of Laurel Auto Suppky
Co, for 15050, . B Altimus for x;2.50, Laurel Outlook for
$9.50, Ruth Putting for $10.00, M. RO Cooper for $25.00 and
?.Fly for $10040 be paid out of the Operating Fund. The
motion carried.
The Water Commissioner reported that the plumber had
requested that the City discontinue the practice of running the
water services to the meter, Thereupon:, the Mayor requested the
Water Committee to investigate and make their recommendations at
the next regular meeting of the City Council.
0. C. Bundy appeared before the . City Council and
requested sogie action in regard to his police claims for services
in 1923, After 'some discussion, he offered to assign one months
pay or $150.00 to the Water Department, It was moved and seconded
that the City Clerk be authorized to draw a warrant on the
Operating Fund in the amount of $300.00, paying for September
and October, 1923 services. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The
motion carried.,
