The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called' to order by Mayor, James Kucera at 8:00 o=clock P. M October 4, 1927o Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present; Porter Webber Chamberlin Perry Vordahl Graves The minutes of September 20th and 24th were read and approved. The report=qf the Police Judge was presented and read, It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Webber that the report ?- be approved. The motion carried, The report of the Police Officer was presented and read, It was moved by Graves and seconded by Perry that the report be approved, The motion caxri ed The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read, It was moved by Vordahl and, seconded by Porter that the report be approved. The motion carried, The report of the Water Commissioner was presented and read, It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the report be approved. The motion carried. The bills for. the month .of September were. referred to the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee reported beck recommending the payment of the following bills; American legion 178,50 T. Zorter that the report of the committee-be adopted and that warrants be issued in the manner recommended by the committee, The motion carried. It was moved by Perry and seconded 'by Porter that the bills of Mildred Erb for $7.00, Thompaeon Garage for $4.25, Vera Sturm for 5040, Quilico Bros. for $15,00 and Herbert Bailey for $14.50 be paid out of the Operating Fund, The motion carried. i Minutes of the City Council of Laurel laurel, Al tana,. October 4, 19270 A proposal from the northern Pacific Railway Company for water was presented and read. It was moved by Perry and seconded. by Chamberlin that the price in excess of 10,000,000 gallons per year be fixed at .0133 and a clause be inserted ptptecting the City and that the matter be referred to the Public Service Commission for their approval, The motion carried. A letter from Geo. Porter, Commissioner of Insurance, in regard to the Fire Department was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that steps be taker to comply with the new law and his instructions in regard to the Fire Department and Fire Relief Fund.. The motion carried. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by,,-Porter that the Clerk be instructed to repair the jail and buy bedding for one cot. The motion-carried. The Committee on Fire and Police reported that the siren would soon be in operation, In response to an inquiry from the City Treasurer, it was moved by Graves and seconded by Porter that the City Treasurer be instructed not to collect the regula license for the Fourth Zuar-ter of 1927. The motion carried. It Was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn, The motion carried.
