The City Council of the City of Laarel met in epee
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor James Xueera at 8:00 e# clock P. M. August 5
1927,;
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Porter
Webber
Chamberlin
Perry
Verdahl
Graves
Hartley,
The Mayer stated that the meeting had been called to
consider the assistance in graveling the road from the Laurel
Milling Company corner to the east. boundary line of the City;
Tim Reardon and J. . Keck appeared before the CoupLail
and said that they had met with' good success and had raised
$244*00 and stated that it would require 4500.00 to do the job:
that they expected to gets by.popnl.ar subscription,, in the
neighborhood of that amo, nnt but wanted to know if the City
Would assist $50.00 or $60.0® if they shon.ld fall short in the„
amount reauired. It was moved by terry and-seconded by Porter
that the matter be left to the discretion of the Street and
Alley Committee* The motion carried,
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn, The
motion carried.
