The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor James gueera at 18:00 o'clock P. M. Tuesday,
July 5, 1927,
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Coy
Guy
Chamberlain.
Perry
Graves
The mi.nutes;,.Qf June 21st were read and approved.
The report of the Police Officer for the month of June was
presented an.d::re.&d. It was moved by Perry and seconded by
Graves that the report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Police Judge ways presented and read.
It was moved by Coy anal seconded by Perry that the report
be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read.
It was moved by Gum an d seconded by Coy that the report be
approved. The motion carried.
The bills for the month of Tune were referred to the
Finanee'Committee and after due deliberation, the committee
reported back recommending the payment of the following bills:

Vannice $2.00 was rejected. It was moved by Coy and seconded
by Perry that the report of the committee be accepted and
warrants be issued in the manner recommended by the eommmittee...
The motion carried. It is moved by Coy and seconded by Perry
that the bills of

RESOLUTION NO. 341.
Resolution No;.. 341, being a Resolution .Levying and Assess
ing a Special Tax against certain aesign.ated.property for the
Removal of Garbage, Snow, Weeds and Refuse, was presented and
read. It was Moved by Goy and seconded by Gunn that said reso-
lution be provisionally passed and adopted. Upon roll call
all Aldermen present voted afire 'and said resolution was declared
provisionally passed.

RESOLUTION NO. 342.
Resolution No. 342, being a resolution Levying and
Assessing all of the Property embraced. within Special Improve-
went Lighting District No. 1 of the City of Laurel, Montana,
with Three-'fourths of the entire cost of maintenance and electric
Curren for the year 1927 was presented and read. It was moved
by Coy and seconded by Perry that the said resolution be pro--
visionally passed and adopted. Upon roll call all present
voted aye and said resolution'was declared provisionally passed.
RESOLUTION NO. 343,
Resolution No,. 343, being a resolution Levying and Assess-
ing all of the Property embraced within Special Improvement
Lighting District No. 2 of the City of Laurel, `Montana, with
.Three-fourths of the entire cost of Maintenance and Electric
Current for the year 1927 was presented and read. It is moved
by Ginn and seconded by Coy that said'.resolut;ion be provision-
ally passed and adopted. ITpon roll call all of those present
voted aye and said resolution was`d.eclared provisionally passed.
RESOLUTION NO, 344,
Resolution No. 344, being a resolution Levying Taxes for
General and Specific Purposes for the City of Laurel, Montana,
for the Fiscal gear beginning July lst, 1927, was presented
and read. It was moved by Coy seconded by Perry that said
resolution be passes. and adopted. Upon roll call all present
voted aye` and said resolution was declared passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO. 345.

Resolution No.. 345, being a resolution Levying and Assess-
ing a tag upon all the Property embraced within Special improve-
ment District No. 64 of the City of Laurel, Montana, to defray
the cost making improvements in said Special Improvement District
was presented and read. It, was moved by.'Gum and seconded by
Chamberlain that said resolution be provisionally' passed. Upon
roll call all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution
was declared provisionally; passed.
The Mayor reported that the American Legion had requested
permission to have the Bernardi Carnival Company here for the
week beginning July 11. It was moved by Coy and seconded by
Perry that ohs request be granted and that license be passed
in order that the American Legion might proceed more available
funds for their purpose. The motion carried. 71-
After some discussion of culverts on Railroad Street at
the west leg of the Northern Pacific Y. ;, Jt was moved by Coy
and seconded by Perry that the City Clerk`be instructed to
make application to the Horthern. Pacific Railway Company for
a culvert under the west leg of the of said Railroad Street.
The motion carried.
It was moved by Coy anal seconded by Gum that we do now
adjourn.. The ono tlon carried.
