Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, Jame 21, 1927 The City Council of the Gity of Laurel met in regular, session in the Council Chamber in the Gity Hall and was called te. order by Mayor James Kuce ra at 8:, Oo o c to ck P,,. M. June 2l, ,192' f Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present, Porter Chamberlin Gum Perry Graves The minutes of June 7th were veajdd and approved.. The report of the Police Officer for the month of May was presented and read, It was moved ily Perry and seconded by. Gam that the report be approved. The motion carried.. The City Engineer reported that it would require a ditch from tw6 to three feet deep for 1900 feet to divert the water from the slough in Blocks 2, and 13 Nutting Subdivision, After some discussion., it was referred back to a committee eon- silting of Graves and Hartley for further recommendation..' The Water Committee reported recommending that a fence should be constructed around the water tower and stated that the wire would post approximately $11,00 and the posh 60y each. It was moved by Gum and seconded by Graves that the report of, the committee be accepted and the Water Commissioner instructed to build.such a fence, The motion carried. RESOLUTION XO# 338. Resolution No.,. 338, being a resolution of Intention to create; Special Improvement District No# 6b, 'was presented'and read. It was move41 by Perry and seeconded. by Gum that said, resolutionbe conditionally passed. Upon. roll call., all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolu'tion`was declared conditionally passed. RESOLUTION NO, 3390 Resolution No.. 359, being a Resolution of Intention . to create Special]: Improvement Distriat no. (56, was presented and read.. It was moved by Gum and seconded by Porter that said reso- lution be conditionally passed. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared conditionally passed, RESOLUTION NQ. 340, Resolution No.# M. 'being a resolution transferring 3srta.in funds, was presented and read. It was moved by Gum, and seconded by Perry that said resolution be passed. The motion' carxi®d. The Street and Alley Comaittes reported that R lro_ad Street be excluded from the City Limits and that a, portion of First Avenue South be excluded as soon as another interview with KT. Mulvaney could be had. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Goa that the report of the committee be adopted and that the, City Attorney be instructed to draw such a resolution. The motion carried. After some discussion of the dog licenses, it was moved by Perry and seconded by Gum that action` be taken to collect all not paid by July 1, 1927.` The motion carried. -It was moved by Perry and seconded by.Graves that the . City Treasurer` be instructed to omit the second quarter license for all quarterly ,7-icense except those fixed by agreement or franehise. The motion. carried. The City Attorney reported that Mrs. Watsabaugh had requested him to have all license cancelled up to January 1, 1927* It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Gum that the Treasurer be instructed to collect back license as billed. The Mayor stated that fir, Horning e4d Mr. Eberviller wished to have a one inch water pipe line extended to their place from the wain on Sixth Avenue and did not have sufficient ' money to pay the total amount cash. It was moved by Gum and seconded by Chamberlin that the Water Commissioner be authorized to extend the lin and to give them a reasonable amount of time to pay for it The motion carried.
