Montane,, April 19 !. 1927 The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council. Chamber in the City- Hall and was o;alled to order by Mayor R. E. Coy at 8:00 o'clock P. M. April 19, 1927, Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered, present;. Laird Porter Chamberlin Gum Berry Vor Bahl Hartley Graves. t were read and 'l The minutes of April 5th and April approve d. ?I The Street and Alley committee reported recommending the installation of fifteen culverts as shown on plat submitted. It was moved by Gu* and seconded by Perry that the Street Com- missioner be. instructed to place as many as available funds would permit. The motion carried. _ Isar.. Geo Goa..-.appeared before the Council and requested that some action be taken for a.sidewalk north of his place on Sixth .venue.. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Perry that two or three loads.of cinders be placed along this place. The motion carried. It was meported that Tom Wirtz premitted his stock to cross the sidewalk and also picketed them along the walk, .she Mayor was requested to notify the Police to have,them refrain from so doing. The Police Committee reported on the matter of extra police and recommended that Rich be paid 075,00 to adjust March -salary. It was moved by Hartley and. seconded t1ri., Cheniberlin that the report of the committee be adopted. The motion carried. A petition from the Public Interest Club, requesting _permission to erect a ban4stand in the peck, same to be the pro- perty of the City, w;qa presented and read,It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Laird that the permit be granted, provided theyI cover it with asphalt or iron roofing. The motion carried.. The committee that had been appointed to' effect settle- ment with R. A. Holley on his bill of $75,00, reported that they were unable to get a settlement. After some discussion, it was moved by Graves and seconded by Hartley that the bill be allowed for. $75.00. The motion carried, Bond No, 666628-B in the amount of $10,000,00 for Vera Sturm, City Treasurer, by the .American Surety Company, was read. .It was moved by.Laird and seconded by Hartley that the bond be approved. the motion carried. The Committee on Fire and. Police reported that Mr, Baker wished to construct two oil tanks instead of one on his premises, It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Berry that the Mayor be instructed to grant the permit as soon as Mr, Baker filed the .petition, The motion carried. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by .Porter that the City Attorney be instructed to draw a lease With Quilico Brothers covering storgage on fire equipment. The #iotion carried.
