March 8 , 1927
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in'Special
Session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall for the consid-
eration of liednses and was called to order by Mayor R. E. Coy
at 7:30 P. I,i. March S. ` 19270
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Laird
Hartl ey
The Finance Committee filed a written report in which
they stated that it would be impossible to make a levy for the
Police Fund-inside of the fifteen mill levy. It was moved by
Chamberlin and Cseconded by :Ferry that the report of the Finance
Committee be aceepted, The motion carried,'
The matter of a license or occupation tax was discussed.
A number of business and professional men appearing an response
to an invitation to join in this meeting. After a discussion: by
some of the City Officials and a number of those effected by the
license or occupation tax, it was recommended by those present
that the City Council cut the license in half.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Ferry that
we do now adjourn. The motion carried.
