The City Council of the Cdty of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Mall and was called to order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o'clock P. M. November 20, 19289 Upon roll call, the following aldermen answered present: Porter Gum Chamberlin Perry V or Bahl Graves Hartley The minutes of Uavember 6td? re read and approved. _ The matter of granting lair. Perry a permit for divif.g across the sidewalk was presented. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that he be pi-e rmi tted to construct a standard driveway. The motion carried. _ It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that the City Engineer be instructed to canvas the City to ascertain the number of people driving across sidewalks and curb without a stan- dard driveway or approach and that he be instructed to notify each person so doing to make suitable driveway and that the police officer be instructed to stop the practise of driving across the Main Street sidewalk in Blocks 4 and 14, Laurel Realty Subdivision, The motion carried. The Street and Alley Committee reported that they were not. ready to make final report on the light at First Avenue and First Street and 11r . MacDonald was requested to appear. He stated that he would furnish estimate by the next regular meeting. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Gum that the Police officer be instructed to have barbed wire fences removed. The motion carried. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the city Treasurer be instructed to bill the armour Cream Station for a creamery license. The motion carried. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that we haul garbage beginning November 26th and the 3dayor 'be instructed to place suitable notice in the Laurel Outlook. The motion carried. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that a committee be appointed to select lots to be advertised by the County Commissioners. The motion carried. Thereupon, the Mayor appointed a committee consisting of Chamberlin, Laird and Gehrett. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Vordahl that we do now adjourn. The motion carried.
