October 16, 1928,.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o= clock P bbl. 'October 16, 1928.
Upon roll call, the fallowing Aldermen answered present:
Perry
Gum
Chamberlin
Graves
Vordahl
The minutes of October 2nd were read and approved.
Mr.. Braswell appeared before the Council and request4d
permission to place a sign., three Teet by Four feet, on South
First avenue at the west boundary line of the street, the sign to
be placed appteximately two hundred feet south of Reeder 's barn.
After some discussion, it was moved by Vordahl and seconded by
Gum that the request be granted. The motion carried..
The report of the Water Commissioner was presented and
read. It was moved by V o rdahl and seconded by Graves that the
report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Police Judge was presented and read.
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Vordahl that the report
be approved. The motion carried.
A bill for services of the Police Judge for the month of
September was presented, It was moved by Perry and seconded by Gum
that the bill of $25.DO be paid,out of the Operating Fund. The
motion carried,
After some discussion of the vault doors, it was moved
by Verdahl and seconded by Gum that the City Clerk be authorized
to purchase locks. The motion carried.
It was moved by Ferry and seconded by Gum that we do now
adJ ourn. The motion carried.
