The City Council of the City of Laurel met in adjourned
regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was
called to order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o'clock P. M,
August 10, 1928.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Gum
Hartley
Chamberlin
Graves
Vordahl
The minutes of July 17th and 19th were read and approved.
The report of the Police Officer was read. It was moved
by Vordahl and seconded by Hartle y that the report be approved.
The motion carried.
The report of the Polic e Judge was presente d and read.
It was moved by Gum and seconded by Chamberlin that t he report be
approved. The motion ca rried.
The report of the City Treasurer was presen ted and read.
It was moved by Gum and seconded by Hartley that the report be
approved. The motion ca rried.
The report of the Water Commissioner was pr esented and
read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Graves that the
report be approved, The motion carried.
The bills for the mcrrith of July were referr ed to the
Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee re-
ported back recommending the payment of the following bills:

It was moved by Gum and seconded by Graves that the report of the
Committee be adopted and that viarrants be issued in the manner re-
commended by the Committee. The motion carried.
It was moved by Guns and seconded by Graves that the bill of
Herbert Bailey for X15.50, Montana Power Co, for $7.52,5. E,
Anderson Motor Co, for X16,35, S. E. Anderson Motor Coo for ('1.50,
Laurel Outlook for ';20.25, Mildred Erb for X 75.00, Yellowstone
Bank for "3,50 and Fo J. Power for e4?4 00 be paid out of the
, Operating Fund. The motion carried.

It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that
the City Clerk be instructed to Publish notice in the Laurel Outlook
fox bids for the construction of a standard five foot concrete side-
walk on the East side of Idaho Avenue between Main Street and First.
Street, on the south side of First Street between Idaho and 07tio
Avenues and on the west side of Ohio Avenue between Jdain Street and
First Street, The motion carried.
The City Engineer was instructed to repair culvert at the
Citizens National Bank Corner.
Mr. Gum reported that his hedge grows over the place for
the sidewalk and requested permission to crowd the sidewalk out
eight or ten inches. It was moved. by Graves and seconded by
Chamberling that the matter be referred to the Street Committee
with instructions to act. The motion carried.
After some discussion of the police light, the MEyor
appointed a committee consisting of Chamberlin, Hartley ai.d Perry
for report at the next meeting.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the
City Engineer be instructed to" have the hallway and entrance way
f' plastered. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The:
motion carried.
