Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
June 19, 1928.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by 3 or James gu.eera at 8;00 P. M, June 19, 1928.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Weber
Gum
Chamberlin
Vordahl
Perry
" Graves
A1 64
The minutes of June 5th and 14th were read and approved.
Mr, Pierce, representing the Eureka Manufacturing Company,
appeared before the Council in an effort ; to sell them fire hose, The
Mayor..referred the matter.to the Committee on Fire and Police for
report at the next meeting.
`. The Committee on fire and police reported that. they had had
a meeting with a number of the firemen and could not agree upon any
regulations in,regard to fire calls. It was moved by Vordahl and
seconded by Hartley that the report of the committee be approved..
The motion carried.
RESOLUTION N0. 349.
Resolution No. 349, being a Resolution Levying and Assess-
ing a Special Tax against certain designated property for the removal
of Garbage, Snow, Weeds and Refuse, was.presented and read. It was
moved by Gum and seconded by Chamberling that said resolution be pro
visionally passed and adopted, Upon roll call, dill Aldermen present
voted aye and said resolution was declared provisionally passed,
RESOLUTION NO. 348.
Resolution No, 348, being a resolution ordering in side
walk-on the North, East and west sides of Bloek 27, Allard Subdivision,
was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seeonde.d by
Hartley that said resolution be passed and adopted. Upon roll call,
all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed
and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO, 350.
Resolution No, '350, being a resolution Levying and Assess-
ing all of the Property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting j
District No. 1 of the City of. Laurel, Montana, with Three-fourths of
the entire cost of maintenance and electric current for the year.1928
was presented and read. It was moved by.Vordahl and seconded by
Hartley that the said resolution be provisionally passed and adopted.
Upon roll call., all present voted aye and said resolution was declared
provisionally passed.
RESOLUTION NO, 351.
Resolution No, 351, being a resolution Levying and Assess-
ing all of the property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting
District No. 2 of the City of Laurel, Montana, with Three-fourths of
the entire cost of maintenance and electric current for the year 1928
was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Weker
that the said resolution be provisionally passed and adopted. Upon:
roll call, all present voted aye and said resolution was declared
provisionally passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NO, 3520
Resolution No, 352, beingg a resolution transferring
certain funds, was presented and read. It was moved by Gum and
seconded by Chamberlin that said resolution be passed. The motion
carried.

RESOLUTION NO. 3530
Resolution No. 353, being a resolution transferring
certain funds, was presented and read.. It was moved by Vordahl
and seconded by Hartley that said resolution be passed. The motion
carried. '
The Water Commissioner's report was presented and read.
It was moved by Graves and seconded by Weber that the report be
approved. The motion carried.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that
warrants be issued to Connelly Machinery Company for $2340,00 and
J. D. Adams and Company for 927,00 in accordance with their bids.
The motion carried,
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that the
City Engineer be instructed to. make the vault two and a half feet
higher than the present ceiling. The motion carried,
The City Attorney reported that he had interviewed Mr,
Baker and Mr, Baker stated t1at he would put in sewer connection.,
It was moved by Gum and seconded by Perry that we do now
adjourn, The motion carried, le rk,
