The City Council of the City of Laurel met in Special
Session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall to consider license
for carnivals and was called' to order by Mayor James gueera at
7:00 o'clock P. M, June 14, 1928 .
Upon roll call the following aldermen answ4red present;
Perry
Gum
Chamberlin
Graves
Weber
Hartley.
The Mayor stated that the Fire Department were negotiating
for a carnival, It was moved by Perry and seconded by Gina that the
City pass all licenses to the Fire Department,. The motion carried,
µ Representatives of the American. Legion appeared before the
Council and stated that Bernardo Carnival had made a proposition tta
them that would net them approximately $400,00 and stated that they
were willing to split with the Fire Department on a fifty-fifty
basis, It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that if this
arrangement was carried out that the Council would pass all licenses
chargable to them.. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn, The motion
carried,
