Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
June 6, 1928,
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the Cite Hall and was called to
order by Mayor James,Kueera at 8;00 o'clock P. M, June 5, 1928.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Perry
Guest
Chamberlin
Graves
Hartley
Vor dahl
The minutes of May 15th were read and approved.
The report of the Cit y Treasurer was presented and read,
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Gum that the report be
approved. The motion carried,
The report of the Pol ice Officer was presented and read.
It was moved by Gum and seconde d by Hartley that the repo rt be
approved, The motion carried.
The report of the Pol ice Judge was presented an d read.
It was moved by Chamberlin and. seconded by Gum that the r eport be
approved._ The motion carried,
The bills f or the month of May were reverred to the
Finance Committee and after due deliberatioh, the commit tee reported
back recommending the payment o f the following bills;

It was moved by -Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the report of
the Committee be adopted and that warrants be issued in the manner
recommended by the Committee, The motion carried.
It.was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the bill of
Laurel Trading Company for $224.6.0 Herbert Bailey for $17,50,
Marshall Wells Company for 13,06., Anderson Motor Company for
31„80, Verne Johnson for $84,64 and Laurel Outlook for $39,00 be
paid out of the Operating Fund, The motion carried,
The bill of Rufus Ogbin for 1921 Poll Tax was rejected,
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by ?V,g? ?}?l that the
Water Commissioner be instructed to place meterst ` €`f ries,
Madden. and Shearer residences, The motion carried.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that the
Fare Committee meet with the Fire Chief and attempt to regulate the
fire calls, The motion carried.
A petition for the construction of a concrete sidewalk on
the north, east and west sides of Block 27, Allard Subdivision, was
presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry
that the City Attorney and City Clerk be instructed to prepare a
reso lotion for ordering in sidewalk by the next regular meeting of
the City Council, The motion carried.
The Mayor, acting chairman of the local airport committee,
announced the following committee:
Representing the City Perry and Graves.
Representing the American Legion B. A. Sherrow and Tom Gary,
Representing the business men- d. F, MacDonald and B. M, Harris,
It was moved and seconded athwe do now adjourn, The
motion carried.
