Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
May 15, 1928.

The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor James Kneera at 8:40 o"clock P, M. May 15, 1924.
Upon roll wall, the following Aldermen answered present;
Weber
Chamberlin
Gum
Vordahl
Berry
Graves-
Hartley
The minutes of May lot were read and approved.
The Street and. Alley Committee reported recommending two
street crossings on the north side of Block .27, Allard Subdivision
and an alley crossing on the east and the west side of said Block,
provided, sidewalks were put in.

It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the
City Engineer be instructed to construct a street 'crossing across
Second Avenue at the north City baits, provided,, . the School Board
would construct one on the east side of Second Avenue at the same
intersection. The motion carried.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Gum that the City
Engineer be instructed to construct an alley crossing on the east
side of Block 20,, Laurel Realty Second Subdivision. as soon as the
property holders construct6d sidewalks. The motion carried.
The contract, prepared by the City Attorney, for an ease-
ment across the sewer filter bed lands was presented and read. It
was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the contract be 4-
proved and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to enter into
the contract with them. The motion carried.
It was moved by Perry and seconded by. Guth that the Street
Commissioner be instructed to remove the delapidated sidewalk on tie
west side of Idaho Avenue. The motion carried.
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Gum that the board
sidewalk on the south side of Block 5, Laurel Heights Subdivision be
removed and a path of cinders be spread. The motion carried,
It was moved and seconded that the Street Commissioner be
instructed to removeethe board sidewalk on the west side of Block 49
Laurel Heights Subdivision* The motion carried.

The Street Commissioner was instructed to notify Mr. C. L.
Morris that the board sidewalk on the west side of Lot 10, Block 39
Laurel Realty Subdivision was unsafe.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the City
Clerk be instructed. to notify the property owners 'that, the sidewalk
adjourning the following places should be repaired within thirty days;
along the west, side of Lot 10, Block 13, Laurel Realty Second Sub-
division,. the east side of ..Block I5.,. Laurel Realty Second Subdivision;
the east side of Blocks 15 and 16, Laurel Heights Subdivision; the
east side of Blockw 1 and 2 Park Subdivision.. The motion-carried,
The City Engineer was instructed to see McCauley about a
drain for the storm water from his office roof.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Graves that the
Street Commissioner be instructed to prepare signs stating tractors
would not be allowed on the pavement., also a sign for 15 miles speed
limit. The motion carried,

Mr. Vordahl reported that the Northern Pacific wanted
10? per cubic yard for their gravel at Mossmain Junction,
It was moved by Perry and seconded by.Hartley that we
do now adjourn. The motion carried.
