The City Council of the City of Laurel met in an ad-
journed regular meeting in the Council Chamber in the City Mall
and was called to order by Mayor James Kucera at 7:30 P. M.

Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Perry
Chamberlin
Vordahl
Hartley
Graves
The Mayor called for a report from the Street and
Alley Committee. They presented a written report and the Clerk
was instructed to read it in which they recommended the purchase
of one Adams Maintainer No. 6 at 4927.00 in accordance with their
-bid of April 179 1928 and a Caterppi?llar Twenty Tractor from
Connelly Machinery Company at $2? ,00 in accordance with their
bid of April 17th. It was moved by Perry and seconded by
Chamberlin that the report of the committee be accepted and the
committee discharged. The motion carried. After some discussion,
it was moved by Perry and seconded by Vordahl that the Mayor and
City Clerk be authorized to purchase the Caterpillar tractor and
road maintainer. The motion carried.
The Water Committee reported that they did not recom-
mend a farther increase in Brohaughis pay for pumping. The motion
carried. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that the
report be accepted. The motion carried.
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that
the Grater Commissioner be instructed to write b1r. Brohaugh and
request him to say whether or not this arrangement was satisfactory.
The motion carried.
The board sidewalks reported in bad order were referred
to the Street and Alley Committee for investigation. The motion
e arr ied.
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that
we do now adj ourn. The motion carried.
