Minutes of the City Council of Laurel _
Laurel, Montana,
March 69 19281
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o'clock P. M. March 69 19280
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Porter
Weber
Gum
Chamberlin
Perry
Hartley
The minutes of February 15th were reed and aplzaved.
The report of the Police Officer was presented and
read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Hartley that
the report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Police Judge was presented and-.read.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Porter that the report
be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the City Treasurer was presented and
read. It was moved by Porter and seconded by Gum that the
report be-approved. The motion carried.
The Water Commissioner requested further time for
filing his report.
The bills for the month of February were referred to
the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee
reported back recommending the payment of the following bills:

It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Perry that the report of
the Committee be adopted and that waxrants be issued in the manner
recommended by the Committee. The motion.carried.
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Gum that the 4ills of 0. Co
Bundy for §2,00, Billings Gas Co. for $7,49, Sande Drug Co. for
@2z.z5, Thompson Garage for 03.50, J. W. Trower for ;2.00, Laurel
Outlook for 02150 and S. 8. Adams Stamp Works for $3.84 be paid
out of the Operating Fund.. The motion carrid4o
ORDINANCE N0. 292.
Ordinance No. 292, being an ordinance f"ixiUgy 1 dense
for card tables operated in the City of Laurel, providing a. pen-
alty for nonpayment thereof and providing for the revocation
thereof in certain cases, was presented for final passage and
approval, It was moved by Phrr`r_anal-ieseconded by Chamberlin that
said ordinance be finally passed and approved. Upon roll call,
all Aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance was declared
finally passed and approved.

ORDINANCE NO. 295.
Ordinance No: 295, being an 'ordinance for the suppression
of liquor traffic in the City of laurel, providing penalties for
its violation and repealing Ordinances 266 and 287, was presented
for final passage and approval. It was moved by Perry and seconded
by Hartley that said ordinance be finally passed an approved,
Upon roll call, 611 Aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance
was declared finally passed and approved.
.It was moved by Perry and seconded by Porter that the
following places be named for voting places for the ensuing
election:
First Ward- Clara Brohaugh Residence.
Second Ward-..City Hall.
Third Ward= Snowflake Bakery.
Fourth Ward- Perry & TAbman Warehouse,
The motion carried.
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Porter that the
following be appointed Judges and Clerks of Election:
First Ward-
Judges: Clara Brohaugh, J. He Crutcher, H. 0. Gunter.
Clerks: Ellen M. Hall, Wm. Jacobs*
Second Ward-
Judges; Lorena Y. Carlisle, Nellie G. Cliek, Minnie
Miller.

Third Ward-

The motion carried,
It was moved by Perry and seconded by Gum that we do
now adjourn, The motion carried.
