The City.-Council of the City of laurel met in regular
Session in the Council Chamber in the ity Ralf and was called
to order by Tlayor fames Z-a.cera at 8:00 of clod I,, !-. Tuesday

The minutes of il'ebruary 7th wexe read. It was moved
by Vordahl and seconded by Chamberlin that the minutes be ap-
proved. The motion carried.
ORDINANCE N0. 290.
Ordinance ?o, 290, being.an ordinance revising and
amending Section 469 of Article I, Chapter 14 of the Revised
Ordinances of the City of Laurel, 1921, relating to advertising
fox expenditures of 000.00 or more, was presented fat: final
passage and approval, It was moved by Vordahl.and seconded by
Haxtley that said ordinance be finally passed and approved. Upon
roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance was
declared finally passed and appr oved.
ORDINANCE N0. 291,
Ordinance No, 291, being an ordinance revising and
amending Article IV, Chapter 6 of the Revised Ordinances of t;he
City of Laurel, 19230 Fixing the salary of the Police judge at
300.00 per annum, was presented for final passage and approval.
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Weber that said or-
dinance be finally passed and approved. Upon roll call, all.
Aldermen present voted aye a«d said ordinance was declared
finally passed and approved,
ORDIN.UNCE 140. 292.
Ordinance No, 292, being an ordinance fixing a license
for card tables operated in the City of Laurel, providing a pen-
alty for non payment thereof and providing for the revocation
thereof in certain cases, was presented for its first reading.
It was moved by 'Vordahl and. seconded by Qum that Ordinance No,
292 be passed and approved upon passage and approval at final
reading March 61 1928.. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present
voted aye.
ORDINANCE N0. 2930
. Ordinance No. 293, being an ordinance for the suppxession
of licanor traffic in the City of Lauxel, providing penalties for
its violation and repealing Ordinaces 266 and 281, was presented
fox its first reading. It was moved by Gum and seconded by Weber
that Ordinance No. 293 be passed and approved.upon passage and
approval at final reading blanch 6, 1928. Upon roll call, all
:aldermen present voted aye.
A letter from Dr, ?'upper requesting a deputy sanitary
inspector was presented and read. Thereupon, the Mayor appointed
R. E. Hexbert as requested by the Health OiDicer. The c?eu??on,
it was moved by Hartley. and seconded by 'Vordahl that the appoint
rient be a_oproved without pay from the City. The motion carried,
