Staffing has been a bit rough especially with a lot of the volunteers being gone this summer and vacation time being taken. -We have been able to hire for both open full time paramedic positions. Courtney Quinnell started July 26th, she has about 5 years of experience, she worked at AMR and then most recently as a flight paramedic in Glasgow. Mariel Riley started full time August 1st, she is currently an EMT finishing paramedic school, we have hired her as a full time EMT and will move her to a paramedic position as soon as she is licensed, most likely in October. Mariel was a volunteer with us and works at AMR. I anticipate both to be done with their precepting/training and able to help fill the schedule September 1st. -Our full time EMT, Thomas White, has resigned his position. We posted his position as a full time EMT currently enrolled in paramedic school with the intent of them being able to work as a paramedic in approximately a year and a half. We have one volunteer that has applied for this position and I anticipate being able to move forward with hiring them. -We have applied for the MDT ambulance grant. I am not certain when they will announce winners, but typically it is September / October. -Sleeping quarters are completed and our full time shifts are 0800-0800 for the 24 hour shift, 0800-0000 for the 16 hour shift. -We have been awarded a community medicine grant from the state of MT, it is in the very early stages, but our 2 providers will begin their class in September.
