Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,
July 161 19290
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o'clock B. ME, Tuesday July 16,
1929.
Upon toll call, the following aldermen answered present..
Perry
Chamberlin
Brohaugn
v or dahl
Hartley
i ,
The minutes of July 2nd were read and approved.,
The City Treasurer's annual report was presented and
read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the
report be approved. The motion carried.
In the discussion of the annual report, the Clerk was
instructed to secure bills for outstanding warrants on Special
Improvement Districts Nos, 66 and 66 and prepare resolution for
transferring funds from ;districts Dios. 21 and. 39,
RESOLUTION NO. 359.
Resolution No. 359, being a_ resolution levying anal..
assessing a tax upon the property described as Lots 1,-lid 10
to 20, inclusive, in Block 27, Allard Subdivision to defray the
cost of making improvements abutting on said property, was pre-
sented for final passage. The Clerk produced proof of mailing
and informed the City Council that no protests had been received:.
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Perry that final pass-
age and approval of said resolution he, made. Upon roll call, all
aldermen presentevoted aye, Thereupon the Mayor declared said
Resolution No, 359 finally passed and adopted.,,
RESOLUTION N0. 360.

Resolution No. 360, being a resolution levying and
assessing a special tax against .certain designated property
for the removal of Galbage, Snow, Weeds and Refuse, was presented
for final passage, The Clerk produced proof of publication in the
Laurel Outlook and informed the City Council that no protests had
been received. It was moved by Voxd.ahl and seconed by Perry that
final passage and approval, of said resolution be made. Upon roll
call, all Aldermen present voted aye. Thereupon the Mayor declared
said Resolution No. 360 finally passed and adopted,
RESOLUTION NO. 3610
Resolution Tao. 361, being a resolution assessing all
the property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting Dis-
trict No., 1, of the City of Laurel with three-fourths of the cost
of maintenance and electric cuxxent for the year 1929, was pre-
sented for final passage The Clerk produced proof of publication
in the Laurel Outlook and informed the City Connc l that no pro-
tests had been received. It was moved by Perry and seconded by
Brohaugh that final passage and approval- of said resolution be
made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. Thereapon
the TvRayor declared said Resolution No. 361 finally passed and
adopted.
RESOLUTION NO. 362.
Resolution No. 362, being a resolution assessing all
the property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting I)is-
trict.No 2 of the City of Laurel with three-fourths of the cost
of maintenance and electric current for the year 1929, was pre
rented for final passage. The Clerk produced proof of publication
in the Laurel outlook and informed the City Council that the pro-
test of O. H. Rutter was the only one received, and thereupon read
the objections of Ir. Rutter, It was moved by Hartley and seconded
by Vord.ahl that final passage and approval of said resolution be

made, Upon roll call, all aldermen present voted aye, thereupon
the Mayor declared said Resolution No,, 362 finally passed and
adopted,
Barney arrived and participated in the further actions
of the City Council,
After some discussion in regard to traffic officer, it
was moved by Hartley and seconded by Barney that the Mayor use
his discretion in the matter. The motion carried.
It was moved by :ferry and seconded by Chamberlin that
we do now adjourn. The motion carried,
