Minutes of the. City Council of Laurel

March 5, 1929#
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor James Hucera at 8;00 es clack P M, March 5, 1929.
Upon roll call, the following aldermen answered present;
Porter
Laird
Gum
Charnb erl ire.
Vordahl
Perry
Graves
Hartley
The minutes of February 5th and 19th were read and
?.... approved,
The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read.
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Gum that the report be
approved. The motion carried.
The report of the- Water Commissioner was presented end
read, It was moved by Perry and seconded by Graves that the report
be approved, The motion carried,
The report of the Chief of Police was presented and
read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Porter that the
report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Police judge was presented and read,,
It was moved by Gum and seconded by Perm that the report be
approved, The motion carried,
The bills for the month of February were referred to
the :Finance Committee and after due deliberation the committee
reported back recommending the payment of the following bills,

It was moved by Perry and seconded by Hartley that the report of
the Committee be adopted and that warrants be issued in the
manner recommended by the Committee, the lotion Carried.
It was moved by Perry, and seconded by Hartley that the bill of
person Motor C;o, for x 20,00, Montana Power Co. for $9:,'74 and.
Billings Gas Co . for X14.25 be paid oaat of the Operating Fund.
The motion carried,
Mr. Olson, representing the 1lithan a Implement Company,
appeared before t '0ouncil and gave prices on corrugat6d Gul-

struetions to authorize purchase if finances permitted,
g contract for the storage of the fire truck with Anderson
rrlotor Company was presented and read. It was moved by Perry and
seconded by Hartley that the contract be approved. The motion
cars ied.
An application of D W. Hunter for two additional card
tabes was presented and read. After some discussion, it was moved
by Hartley and seconded by Vor Bahl that the application be ap-
proved. it was moved by Gum and seconded by laird that the motion
be amended and that the approval to be made for tables on the
ground floor only. Therefore the amendment carried. Thereupon
the Mayor put the original motion before the Council, The motion
carried.
The Mayor appointed C. W, laird on the Sewer and Park
Committees,
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by laird that the
firemen and American legion. be notified that there would be no
permit granted for carnivals this year. The motion carried.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by laird that the
following designated as voting places for the
named 1 aces be

ensuing election,
First Ward- Carrie E. Erb.
Second Ward- City Hall.
Third Ward- Snowflake Bakery.
Fourth Ward- N. P. Hotel.
The motion carried..
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Laird that the
following be appointed Judges and Clerks of Election:
