6 Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, I'vil.ontana, February 5, 1929, The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the council Chamber in the City Tull and was called to order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o'clock P. Y1, February 6, 1929. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present; Par-ter Gum Chamberlin Vordahi Peru Graves The minutes of February 15th were read and approved. The report ©f the Chief of Police was presented and read, It was moved by Vardahl and seconded by Chamberlin that the report be approved, The motion curried, The report of the Police judge was presented and read, It was moved by Vardahl and seconded, by Graves that the report be approved., The motion carried. The report of the City Treasurer was ,presented and read.. It was moved by Guns and seconded by Porter that the report be ap- proved. The motion carried. The bills for the month of January were referred to the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, they4reported back recommending the payment of . the following bills: Montana Power Co, X601,65 Billings Gas Co. 55,54 Mathieson .ilk.. Tupper 360,00 It was moved by Perry and seconded by Gum that the report of the committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the manner recommended by the committee. The motion carried. it was moved by Perry and seconded by Graves that the bill of lvlontana Power Co, for "81.98,Anderson Motor Co. for ;x,20.00, H. Bailey for $134,00, Sande DragOo. for $23.75, S. G. Adams Stamp Woks for X25,54 and Billings Gas Co. for $12.17 be paid out of l l F" I 3 F C E G Y Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana,. February 5, 19294 the Operating Fund. The motion carried. The Mayor reported that J, F. Roth had resigned from the Police Department to work on the Fire I)epartment in Billings and reported that he had appointed James Rollman special police officer at $100,00 per month pending action of the Council, It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the appointment be approved, The motion carried. j After.some discussion in regard to an Alderman in the First Ward, it was moved by Porter and seconded by Chamberlin j that C. . Laird be elected to fill the unexpired term occasioned by the resignation Of J. F. Weber. Upon roll call, all Aldermen' present voted aye and C, W,. Baird was declared elected Alderman of the First Wa,rd.. The Clerk was instructed to request the City Treasurer not to issue license for card tables in the future, but to have applicants sign forms prepared by the City Attorney, which ap- plication is to be referred to the Council before tranting license. The Clerk was instructed to return Montana Code to Bancroft Whitney Company. It was moved by Ferry and seconded by Graves that we do now adjourn. The motion carried, i er Approved this day of , 1929.
