Laurel, Montana.,
January 16, 1929.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor Janes Kneera at 8-.00 V clock ??. M, January 15, 1929.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Perry
Gum.
Chamberlin
Graves
Vordahl
The minutes of January lst and 2nd were read and approved.
The Treasurer's report was presented and read. It was
moved by' Chamberling and seconded by Graves that the report be ap-
proved. The motion carried.
The Water Commissioner's report vas. presented an& read,
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Graves that the report be.
approved. The motion carried,
The Fire Department suggested P. J, Boggio, L, Connors
and C. E. Hiner as members of the Fire Department to take the place
of vacancies occured by B. H. Conger, Norman Freund -and Thomas Gary.
Thereupon, it was moved by Graves and seconded by Berry that the
appointments be approved. The motion carried.
The Street and Alley Committee reported that they had
authorized the construction of a sign across Main Street by the
Anderson Motor Company and asked for action by the Council. It was
moved by Perry and seconded by Gum that their action be approved.
The motion carried.
Mr. Bain, representing a nursery stock appeared befa e
the Council to sell trees for the park and was referred to the
Fire Depar tnBnt ,
The Mayor accounoed he had appointed Herbert Bailey
Chief of Police to act days at ?25,00 per month and J. F. Roth
as special police at oo,00, It was moved by Vordahl and seconded
by Perry that the appointments be approved, The motion caxried.
The Mayor reported that he had talked to bit. Anderson
about fire .ruck and submitted prices that Anderson had fumished
and referred the matter to the members of the Fire Committee and
asked them to call in Thomson and Boyer,
It was moved by Gum and seconded by Vordahl that we do a
now adjourn. The motion carried.
