-The City Council of the City of Laurel met in adjourned
regular meeting in the Council Chamber in the City Hall a.nd..vas
called to order by Mayor Jamues Ku.cera at 8:00 o'clock P. . Jan-
uary 2, 1929,
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Perry
Gum
Graves
Porter
Tex Bahl
Chamberlin
The minutes of December 18th, 1928, were read. It was
moved by Chamberlin a-ad seconded by yordahl that the minutes be
approved. the motion eaxxied.
Mr. Rash, Mr Sturm, Mr. Hodges and Mr. Crutcher ap-
peared before the Council and had an imfoxmal discussion of
Ordinance No, 294, or the milk ordinance.
Mr. S. E. Anderson of the Anderson Motor Company ap-
peaxed before the Council and requested permission to place a sign
across }fain Street in front of his ,garage. It was moved by Gum
a d seco ed by Perry that the Street and Alley Committee be
to authorize a permit for the construction of this sign.
The runt ion carried.
'The report of the Police Officer was presented and read,
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Chamberlin that the report
be approved. The motion carried,
The report of the Police Judge was presented and read.
It was moved by Graves and seconded by Chamberlin that the report
be appxoved. The motion carried.
The bills for the month of December, 1928, were _referred
to the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the Committee
reported back recommending the payment of the following bills.

It was moved by ferry and seconded by Porter that the report of the
committee be adopted. and that warrants be issued in the manner
recommended by the committee. The motion carried.

It was moved by berry and seconded by Porter that the bill of
The City Water Dept, for :: 9,50, Laurel Outlook for ?1 ,5Q
Billings Gas Co:, for 46.45, Nmontana Power Co for $9,'72, S. P.
Anderson for $25.01, S. E. Anderson for tz0,50, H, E# Herbert
fo-r $3115,00 and B. L. Price for $2.60 'be paid out of the 0 r-
acing Fund.. The motion carried.
The Street and Alley Committee.reported recommending
that the Aqua Mineral Wells 'be.allowed to place a sign at the
intersection of .First Avenue and 16ain Street at a point desig-
hated by the .City Engineer, It, was moved by Vordahl- and second-
ed by Graves that the permit be granted. The motion carried.
The Street and Alley Qoxmaittee reported recommending
that 11r, Charles imttert s petition: for his propexty to be ex--
eluded from Special: Inprovement Lighting, ;district yo. 2 be re-
jected. It was moved bar Vordahl and seconded by kerry that the
report of the committee` be adopted, The motion carried;
After: some discussion of the storing of the fire truck,
it was moved by Perry and seconded by Vordahl that the Mayor and
City Clerk be authorized to enter into a contract for storage of
the fire equipment ab.d track for the ensuing year with the S. E.
Anderson Motor Company at ;,20,00 per month.. The motion carried.,
