The.:.City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to order by Mayor James Kueera at 8:00 o'clock P.-M. Tuesday December 2, 1930. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answeredepresent: q ,. Po rter Chamberlin 3 :. Barney Vordahl Perry Graves ?I Hartley y The minutes of November 18th were read and `approved, ry= The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Graves that the report be approved. The motion carried. - = The report of the Ghief of Police was presented and read. It: was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Police Fudge was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl, and seconded by Perry that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Water Commissioner for September and October was presented and read. It was moved,by Voxdahl and seconded by Perry that the report be approved. The motion carried. West 95.50 Henry Kaiser 122.50 'It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that the report of the Committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the mariner recommended.by the Committee. The 4iotion carried. It was moved by Perxy and seconded by Chamberlin that the bill of Yellowstone County for $29.94, Fred Reil for X26.50, laontana Power company for 41874, Billings Gas Company for 46.45, City `Hater ,Department for i17.61, Laurel Outlook for y 4 00s_ Herbert Bailer for #5.30 and Davis Transfer Company for X63.50 be paid out of the i I I I i I i I I i I I I I I i Minutes of the City Council of Laurel ,aurel, Montana., December 2, 1930. Operating Fund, The motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 380. Resolution No, 380, being a resolution transferring certain funds of the City of Laurel, eras presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that said resolution II. be passed and adopted. The motion carried. The City Attorney and City Ol,erk were instructed to draw, a resolutioh transferring enough funds from the %a.ter mind to the eater Intake Fund to retire outstanding bonds of ?1250.bo. j This being the time set for receiving bids for the construction of improvements in Special Improvement Parking Dis- trict No. 1, the Clerk was instructed to open and read all bids submitted, The only bid submitted was that of Laurel Post 123 American Legion.. They bid.$"4.00 for the total improvement. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that the c?n- traet be awarded to Laurel Post 123 American. Legion and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to enter into a contract with him. The motion carried. This being the time set for receiving bids for the construction of improvements in Special Improvement`District No. 63, the Clerk was instructed to open and read all bids sib- mitted, The bids were as follows: Grant F. yamport & Co. 3f3,833.00 8. M, harnton 11 876.0 J. M. Carter 17 9180.00 It was moved and seconded that the Mayor appoint a committee to review the bids submitted. The motion carried, hereapon the Mayor appointed Vordahl, Hartl-sy and Barney to report 4pon the bids submitted. After due deliberation, the 0,pmmittee reported back recommending that the bid of Giant F, Lomp©rt & 0ompany in the amount of $14,833.00 be acdeptad as the lowest and best bid submitted., It was moved bg Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the report of the committee be accepted and that the 144yor acct City Clerk be authorized to enter into a contract with giant-f lr F. Lamport & Company for the construction of improvements `in 4pee al Improvement -District No. 68-a$ the price of said bid. The motion carried. Mr. Peter .0. Thompson and Mr. Geo. K-urrook appeared before the Cou cil in regard to water line extension, Aft.er some discussion, it was referred to the Water Committee.
