The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Goanc3 l Chamber' in the City Hall and was called to order by Mayor James, Kacera at 8000 of clock P. M. Tuesday' October 7, 19301t Upon roll call,,the following Aldermen answered present; Porter Brohaugh Chamberlin Barney gordahi Graves Hartley The minutes of September l6th and October 3rd were read and approved. The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read. ' It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Graves that the report be approved. The motion carried. The. report of the Chief of Police was presented and read. It was moved by Graves and seconded by Hartley that the report be, approved; The motion carried. The report of the Pollee Judge was presented and read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Barney that the report be approved. The.moton carried. The report of the Rater Commissioner was prese nted and read. It was moved by Barney and seconded by Porter that the re- part be approved. The hzatter was ` referred to the Street and Alley Committee, Mr. Goo.-Bath-and Mr.. Colson appeared before the City Council to get information in regard to the cost of the graveling of streets. Mr. Colson expressed a disapproval of such improve- ments. 14r.. Tsrritt, representing the Goan for Company, ap- peared before the City Council and requested' permission to gravel the street, in front of they ,Goan Garage. The matter was referred to the Street 4 d Alley gontaittee A letter from T. R. Holmes in regard to street, cend Lions at his office was presented and read. The -matter was referred to the Street and Alley Committee,, _ ,. request from the Northern Pacific Railway Company, for the City to sigtt?,8 new lease for the transmissiO line on their right-af vay was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the 14ayor and City Clerk be authorize& to sign lease. The motion carried. A letter from the Volunteer Fire Department in which they reported they -were dropping from their list R. L. Huston and Harold bonne and reoom mended H. J. Harris and H. G. Feat for membership. Thereupon, the X4164appointed R. J. Harris and H. C. West as new mb rs of tha firs Department, ' It was moved by Graves and seconded by Vordahl' that the appointments be approved. The motion carried. A request from 44, L. Fenton for a permit to 'erect a brief and tile' office bul-lding 15 X24 feet on the Seth Half. of Trot 14, Block 1, Laurel Realty Subd.ivisign, Was pre6ex,Lted. It was moved by Barney sod seconded by Ohamberlin that the permit be granted. The motion earried. RESOLUTION n0. 3750 Resolution No.. 3'75, being a resolution of intention to Create Special Improvement Parking District No. 1 of the City of Lauxel, gontsna'? was presented and read. .It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Graves that said resolution be passed and adopted, Upon roll call, all .,jdermen present voted afire and said resolution No. 375 was declared passed and adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 376. Resolution No. 376, being a resolution of Intention to Create Special Improvement District go. 68 of the city of Laurel, Montana, was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and Samonded by Graves that said resolution be passed and adopted. Upon roll eal:3,, all aldermen present voted aye, except Hartley, who voted nay q and said Resolution No. 376 was declared passed and adopted. RES OLUT ION NO. 317. Resolution No.. 377, being a Resolution Transferring Certain fonds of the City of Laurel, was presented and read. It was moved by Barney and seconded by 0h#mberlin that said resolution be passed and adapted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said Resolutioni Xo. 577 was declared passed and adopted. It was moved by vordahl and seconded by Barney that we do now adjourn.
