The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the Qity Hall and was called to order by Mayor James guoera at 8:00 of clock P M. Tuesday August 5, 1930,. Upon roll call, the following 8.ldeimen answexed present:. Perry Chamberlin Dr. N. E. T-upper 30.00 Joe Nicholas 135.00 R. Fritz 25.00 It was moved by Perry and seconded by Porter that the report of the committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the manner recommended by the Committee. The motion carried. It was moved by Derry and seconded by Porter -that the bill of Montana I?ower 0ompany for 614.402 1,1* S. T. 8c T, Co. for X5.45, Herbert Bailey for -X18.40, Geo. The report of the Police Judge was presented, and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Chief of Police 'Was presented and read. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Hartley that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of July was presented and read. It was 'moved by Chamberlin .and s econded by Porter that the repor t be approved. The annual statement of the. City Treasurer was ' presented and read. It was moved. by ioxdahl and seconded by.Perry that the the statement,be approve d. The motion carried. It was moved by Perxy and seconded by Voxdahl that the permit be granted and cont-raet al- ready signed bs approved. The motion carried, The milk report from the Health Department was presented and read. It vas moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Perry that the report be approved. The motion 'carxied. The -Clerk read a protest from Myrtle H• Vance and reported that it was 'the only protest that had been filed and produeed proof of publication and mailing` a required by Resolution Uo. 373, being the Resolution of in- tention to create special Improvemext District No. 67. Thereupon it was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that the pr-Otest filed was insufficient and that the Gou4eii 'xocesd to tle creation of said District, The motion carried,. RESOLUTION NO. 374. Resolution No. 374, being a resolution creating Special Improvement- District No. 61, was presented €ind read.. l°t was moved by Vordahl and seconded by'Perrg that said resolution be passed and adopted. The motion carried. ORDINANCE PTO. 299. Ordinance No 299, being an ox-dinance providing for the receiving of bids l n.d the 16 t ng of a aontract for the construction of rOVeMentz in apecial lmpxdvell?ent District No. 67, was pr_eaotted and read. After some discussion', it was referred to the Mater Committee and after due de-liberation, the Gomm 1 ttee reported back recommending its irlmediate passage. it was malted by V,crd4hT and seconded by kern! that the report of the committee b?e adopted and that the unaniz oua consent and vote; of the P0,iincil be had to place oxdinenee- No- 299 upon its im- mediate passage. Upon roll cell, all: Aldermen present rioted aye, It was moved by Vordahl and seconded liy. Perxy that said Ordinance No. 299 be passed and adopt-ed. A request from the Standard Oil Company for a Permit to erect a brie and tile filling station on lots, 1 and 2, Block 2, Laurel Realty Subdivision., it was moved by Perry and seconded: by Chamberlin that the permit be granted. The motion carried. A request from C. H.
