Minutes of the City Council of )Laurel
Laurel, Mont ana
July 15, 1930.
The City Council of the City of Laarel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order by mayor James Kucera at. 8 QQ Qlalock P M. Tuesday
July 15, 19340
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:
Bre.haugh
Chamberlin
Perry
Vordahl`
Graves
The minutes of July 'lot were read and approved.
Mr. Henry with Henry Brothers Shows appeared before
the Council and explained the type .of road shoe that he had. ,
After some discussion, it was mowed by ? ordahl and seconded by
Perry that he be permitted to show for X5.00. The motion carried.
RE30LUT ION 10. 370.

Resolution No. 570, being a resolution levying and
assessing all of the property embraced within Special Improvement
_ Lighting District No. 1 of the City of Laurel, Montana, With
three-fourths of the entire cost of maintenance and electric
current for the year 1930, was presented for final passage. The
Clerk produced proof of publication in the laurel Outlook and in-
formed the City Council that no protests had been received. It
v4s moved by rdshl and seconded by Chamberlin that final passage
and approval of said resolution be made, Upon roll. call, all
Aldermen present voted aye. Thereupon the Mayor declared said
Resolution. No 370 finally passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION :ffO„ 371.
Resolution No. 371, being a resolution levying and
assessing all of the property embraced within Special Improvement
Lighting District No. 2 of the City of Laurel, Montana, with
three-fourths of the entire cost of maintenance and electric
current for the year 1930, was presented for final passage. The
Clerk produced proof of publication in the laurel Outlook and in-
formed the City Council that no protests had been received. It
was moved by -err~:.end _seavnded^Hy Brohaugh that final passage
and approval of maid resolution be made. Upon roll call, all
Alermen present voted -aye. Thereupon the Mayor declar6d said
Resolution No. 371 finally passed and adopted.
RESOLUTION NOt 372.
Resolution ho. 5729 being a resolution levying and
assessing a special tax against certain designated property for
the removal of garbage, snow, wee&s and refuse, was presented

the laurel Outlook and informed the City Council that no protests
had been received. It was moved by.Wrdah sdu seBdaded by- Perry
that final passage and approval of said resolution be made. Upon
roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. Thereupon the Mayor
declared said Resolution No. 372 finally passed and adopted.
Mr. Barney appeared and participated in the further
proceedings of the City Council.
.A bond in the amount of $1346,61 by the Montana P o e.Z.
Company, Prank L. Coleman and J. F. Macbonald for the f,oll' I n-
- warrants: No. 8750 for $9.74, Ro. A-8748 for 328.94_, No. A-8749
for 785.15 1N04 X-6557 for $95.59 and No. Y-6568 for $127.19 was
presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by
Chamberlin that the Mayor and City Clerk",-,be authorized to issue
duplicate warrants to cover warrants lost or destroyed and City
Treasur-ex be notified of this action. The motion carried.,

The City Treasurer requested permission to cancel the
$10,000.00 depository bond for the Midland National Bank, It
was moved by Barney and seconded by Tarry that the City Treasurer
be authorized to cancel said bond as soon -as the amount on deposit
had been reduced to ,_P00.09. The motion carried.

The Street and Alley Committee reported on the Sherrow
Brothers sign across Main Street, There was some misunderstanding
about the mddght of the sign and the condition of one of the -pole
supports. After some discussion, it was moved by Vordahl and
seconded by Barney that the request be referred back for plans
and specifications, The motion carried.
It eras moved by Vordahl and seconded by Perry that we
do now adjourn. The motion carried.
