HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 06.17.19304 The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber,in the City Hall and was call6d to order by Mayor James Zueera at 8:00 O'clock P. M. Tuesday June 17, 1930. Upon roll call,. the following Aldermen answered present; Br o hangh Chamberlin Barney Perry Graves The minutes of dune O*d were read and approved. fir. O. _M, Wold and Dr. ID. H. McCauley appeared before the Council in regard to paving Main Street:, between Pennsylvania Avenue and Fourth Avenue and the alley parallel to Main Street. After some discussion, It was moved by Perry and seconded by Barney that the City Attorney and City Clerk be instructed to start pro- ceedings for improvement districts. The motion carried, A petition for the installation of a cast " iron water main { on Bain Street, between. Montana Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenues was presented an.dd read. After some discussion, It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Perry that the city Attorney and City Clerk be instructed to start proceedings for an improvement district The motion carried. A sample of fire hose from the Doodyear Rubber Company was presented. After some discussion, it was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Perry that the City purchase two hundred feet of hose at fifty cents 'a foot. The motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 367 Resolution No, 367, being a resolution declaring Resolution No. 366: null and void, was presented and read,. It was moved by lerry and seconded by Brohaugh that said resolution be passed and adopted.. The motion carried. RESOLUTION NO 3680 Resolution. No. 68, being a resolution transferring certain funds of the City of Laurel, was presented and read. It was moved by Barney and seconded by ferry that said resolution be passed and adopted. The motion carried. J RESOLUTION NO. 3694 Resolution N0,369, being a resolution levying taxes for general and specific purposes ifor the City of Laurel, Montana, for the fiscal year beginning May let, 1930, was presented and read.. It was moved by Barney and seconded by'Brohaugh that said resolution be passed and adopted, The motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 370s Resolution No. 370, 'being a resolution levying and assessing all of-the property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting District Vo. l of the City of Laurel, 'Montana, with three-fourths of the entire cost of maintenance and electrict current fox the year 1930, was presented and read. It was moved _by Chamberlin and seconded by Perry that said resolution be pro- visionally passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted eye and said resolution'waas.declared provisionally passed! RES OLUT ION NO. 371, RESOLUTION No. 371, being a resolution levying and assessing all of the property embraced within Special Improvement Lighting District No, 2 of the City of Laurel, Montana, with l three-fourths of the entire cost of maintenance and electric current for the year 1930, was presented and read. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared provisionally passed. Vordahl appeared at this time and participated in all further business. RESOLUTION No. 372. Resolution ho. 372, being a resolution levying and assessing a special tag against certain designated property for the removal of garbage, snow, seeds and refuse, was presented and read, It was moved by Perry and seconded .by Chamberlin that said resolution be provisionally passed Land adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared provisionally passed, It was-moved ; by Perry and seconded by Barney that Andersor3-ahrader Carnival be permitted to shops here the week beginning dune 23rd under the auspices of the Park Committee and that license be waived and that Scott Brothers shows be permitted to show here the week beginning Angast 18th under the auspices of the Volunteer Fire Department and that license be waived.
